I saw those last time I was at Dick's Sporting Goods about 3 months ago and wore them around the store for 20 minutes (as a joke)... they were comfy... maybe even better than my Rainbows. Alas, in the end I decided to spit on them and put them back on the shelf.
I agree... they're hideous.
Awe I want a pair
They should at least leave out the holes, that way they'd be waterproof and I could see some point to them (comfy, warm, waterproof).
Crocs have spread like crazy here in Finland, last summer when I was here I don't remember seeing any, now there's people everywhere walking around in them. I personally find them hideous, though I'd maybe try a pair of their more normal style if they're really that comfortable. As for Uggs, I'd never wear them unless they changed the foot so it doesn't look like a weird loaf, and fixed the support in them so that after some wear they don't warp so people are walking on the inside of the boot.
The crocs boom took off here too, I have a couple of pairs but I only use them as slippers, and for nipping out with the dog at 6am, they are ugly, but also very comfortable.
As for uggs I can't stand them, would never be seen dead in them....they should be called 'Yucks!'
Even though "crocs" and "cruggs" are against the dress code. Not supposed to wear shoes that expose your feet in any way, shape, or form.
That right there is a crime against fashion no matter which way you look at it. They are hideous, not unlike their brethren.
I don't care how comfortable crocs, uggs or cruggs are, the only place they are appropriate is in the comfort of your own home/backyard - and you should hope guests don't come over. :
Ha! I totally wear those in Chicago during the winter. When it's 5:30 am and I have to walk the dog, sleepwalking into my fuzzy crocs then out the door makes it easier.
My husband has placed a "no fuzzy crocs allowed in public" rule on me though. I swear it
if he sees me go to put them on and he's with me, he reminds me of the deal ("If I get these honey I promise I won't wear them out with you")
It's the same here in Korea. I'm amazed at how widespread this horrible trend is.
I've always thought your husband was a wise man spiro. Although the Australians did invent the speedo, so they are not innocent of crimes against fashion.
Why do so many people hate crocks? I don't really get it. I got my first pair recently and think they make fantastic water shoes. I wear them to the beach, for kayaking, and for showering while camping.
hmking- they're ugly... not just kinda bad, they're TERRIBLE. Care about comfort when you're 85y/o.
They're disgustingly ugly... that's why.
Ack!!
I love fashion...but I hate Uggs and I despise Crocs. I don't care if every model was sporting them down the runway, I'd still hate them. And NOW to put them together into one shoe......Gawd!!
Sniff, sniff. Why so much anger, folks? No wub for the poor, misunderstood Crocs, huh? LOL. Around here, we also call 'em "ugly shoes." To be precise, we call 'em "Mommy's ugly shoes," and often "Mommy's <insert color here> ugly shoes," all SEVEN PAIR. Hey, I'm J, and I'm a Crocaholic. Yes, they are ugly. Yes, they are the most comfortable shoe to ever sit on my foot, my very hard to fit foot. I have several Beach/Cayman style and even a "winter/mud-riding/puddle splashing" pair with laces and no air vents, looks like a regular shoe, no strap. Yeah, feel free to call 'em ugly when you see me wearin' them. I'll agree with you and keep smiling and saying "Ahhhhh" with every pain-free, squishy step.
They can grow on you, though. First time I saw them, I was like, ewww, that has to be below human standards and definitely too ugly for public. A few months later, I bought my first pair and have never looked back. Yeah, they're still ugly, though, I just don't care anymore. ![]()
I've never been a Crocs fan. I particularly find it disturbing when people have their kids wear them all the time. I just can't imagine that those ill-fitting, floppy shoes provide an appropriate level of support for growing feet. And kids tend to fall in them when they run on the playground.
i think crocs are ridiculously adorable on little little kids. but once you hit two, they definitely become one of the worst fashion ideas since the fanny pack. cruggs are nowhere near as bad as the high heeled croc though. yuck.
(that said, i do love my uggs. they are wonderful in boston winters and i think they're cute as long as you steer clear of the ridiculous uggs/miniskirt trend)
UGLY BEYOND UGLINESS.

We should beat everyone with our Crocs.
