I am going on a Cruise in 1 month...how can I get off 10 pounds?

Quote  |  Reply

I recently lost 25 pounds and since then I've been at a stand still and my motivation has dropped. My cruise leaves on August 20th and I really need to lose another 10 pounds. I was thinking of doing Atkins for the next month. I know I will lose inches on that diet as I've done in the past.

Any suggestions?

In four weeks, you could healthily lose 4-8lbs. Although given that you've already lost a significant (25lb) amount of weight, it might be a lot harder to lose that much.

I think you should consider why you need to lose x amount of weight for a cruise. Nobody there will know what the scale says. And my feeling is that if you try to lose too much too fast for a vacation, you are much more likely to go on vacation and gain it back (the mentality of "I'm on vacation, I can eat what I want" is very common, plus if you eat to little in your efforts to lose, it will be that much easier to gain it back).

2 options:
1) cut off your arm
2) eat less and exercise more. (and make sure the food is good for you)

10 pounds in a month is doable.

thanks for the advice, I'm going on a cruise august 27th and i was wondering the same thing except i recently gained a few lbs and want to lose them again... good luck and have a good cruise

I should just cut the arm! LOL...Good idea!

I know what you mean about gaining it back. I am VERY cautious of what I eat and I would really like to suck my stomach in a little before I dare lay by the pool. It's getting SO HARD to lose more weight. I'm frustrated over it.

On top of that, I haven't gotten my period this month yet. It's coming now.....and it will be here for my cruise.

I am also looking for a way to push it back from ruining my trip.

are you on any sort of birth control?

If you are on birth control, It is safe to skip a period by skipping over the placebo pills at the end of the month and starting a new pill pack.

Eh, I tried moving my period so it wouldn't fall on my honeymoon, worked with my doctor on it, started trying to shift it months in advance...and instead got it the day before my wedding. :/
