So saturday night I went to see a movie with my girlfriend, who just returned from a week-long vacation in the Dominican Repubic. She is 5'8'', and about 130 lbs, and I think she looks great. But, she told me that in a bikini things just "aren't the same", as college (only 2 years ago!!) and that in clothes she looks fine, her jeans hold up her butt.
Then she dropped the bomb: she has cubicle ass. OMG. I never thought of this. I run/workout a lot, eat fairly healthy and even try to walk about 1 mile every day during lunch (unlike the girl in front of me in the conveince store at the office who bought a full calorie large pepsi, a BIG bag of lays chips, and a small box of cookies!) But then I realized it is true, my butt is definitely not as high as it was only two years ago. My friend went on to ask me to analyze the butts of all the women in my office who have been working in desk jobs for years and it seems to be true, flat, wide booties!
to all my fellow cube mates: what can we do about this!!?? anyone else have this problem and fix it? I'm not fat at all, I am in great shape, but my butt just isn't high enough!

I've worked in a cubicle since (and all during) college and my butt is only getting better the longer I've been lifting weights. Some good, heavy weight training is all you need. Cubicle butt is not inevitable, thank goodness. :)

The same way. I have cubicle ass too but I can attest to the other posters, squats and lunges are definitely the way to go to lift that but and burst the bubble.

I dodged a bulled cause my dad's side has no ass, so I'm just glad I have one. :)
HAHA! Yep, I went from climbing ladders and hauing heavy things to sitting in a cubicle. Cubicle arse is a definite reality. I've put on about 10 pounds working here, and I eat salads and no junk, and work out still.
However...I can't work out as much as I used to because of my commute. And, the clock is ticking towards 40, so the metabolism is slowing down. It is getting harder and harder to stay a size 6, let alone 8.
I have managed to keep a solid bootie however, even if it is a bit more *ahem* padded. I credit lunges I've done for years before. Also, plyometric jumping lunges (thank you Jillian Michaels!!). Running seems to help also.![]()
climbing stairs..skip every other step so you can make deep steps. It'll jack your booty up to the ceiling big time!! it worked for me and I had a soggy bubble butt cause of my weight loss.
I work in a cubicle and def don't have cubicle ass lol. I use my lunch break to light weights and then go do cardio after work. god i love having a gym right in my work. squats, lunges, step ups, stair climbs, deadlifts, ohhh yaaa. and the fact that I'm still young :D
Cubicle **** is a reality in corp america LOL-especially at my last place of employment. Before the recession I worked at a mid-size national bank (at one of the corp campuses) and because of the way it designed (no fridges for personal use) everyone basically ate in the cafeteria and/or Jazzman's cafe for breakfast and lunch plus snacks. A lot of people were not just overweight but obese (and some morbid obese).
The cafe had these supersized pastries, cookies as big as a small personal pizza. The salad bar sucked because it wasn't always that fresh so everyone ate at the grill (which served mostly fried food for cheap).
Anyway, I worked out on my lunch break at least 3x/week but I still gained a few pounds (I ate when I was bored-which was almost everyday!! LOL) And people would still try to get me to eat fries everyday (claiming I needed to gain a few)...Since I was laid off, I lost like 10lbs just from not eating all that junk everyday (but I gained a few back from the depression of losing my job).

Figure out what type of eater you are and you might just find the answer to permanent weight loss.
