Cuddle Parties?
I recently saw a news story on cuddle parties. Strange?
Apparently, it costs $30.00 to go to one.
What a Cuddle Party Is: A structured, safe workshop on boundaries, communication, intimacy and affection. A drug and alcohol-free way to meet fascinating people in a relaxing environment. A laboratory where you can experiment with what makes you feel safe and feel good.
I wouldn't go, but then I am an introvert. Would you?

As weird as it sounds, I think it might be a good idea for some? I think some single people (heck, even some married people) are "touch deprived". Maybe if people "cuddled" with others more often, they wouldn't feel the need to find their acceptance by picking up strangers and sleeping around.
Edit: let me clarify. I'm not saying that people who have one-night-stands or sex with multiple people are bad. I'm just saying that there are some people out there who use sex as a way to feel close to others. To feel accepted. To feel loved. Maybe for people like that, a cuddle party might do them some good.
I personally wouldn't go but kind of agree with the previous poster that maybe for some it would be helpful... not my thing though.

but i agree with you, could be a good thing for those who are just looking for some contact with another person.
They wear snuggies, bring stuffed animals and spoon.
I couldn't wear my pjs in front of strangers, never mind spoon with them.
They seem to be very popular.

I know extroverted people who give a lot of hugs, touch people's arms shoulders when they talk to them etc. I am sure they would suffer from touch deprivation. They may not even be aware of how touchy they are. I am cause I am an awkward hugger and don't really like to be touched by coworkers and associates etc.
Hmmm, maybe I need cuddle therapy.

I rememeber reading about these a while ago. I think it could be very good for some people. I love cuddling. I can't imagine not cuddling for extended periods of time :[

I can see that. It seems to be a pretty safe activity for those craving human contact. Better than getting really drunk and climbing into bed with total strangers. I couldn't do it. But I am an introverted, armour plated pj wearing cynic.

No yiff, even the furries I know laugh at cuddle parties.
To each their own, i guess, but something about it always sort of cracked me up/creeped me out. I mean, I can get a platonic hug from my friends, why would I shell out money for it?
