Curiousity about YOUR daily deficit (short girl)!
I'm 5'1'', 125. My BMR is 1235 and I am moderately active. In the last 17 days, I ate 1488 calories and burned 1809 daily for a deficit of 321. The weightloss is not fast but still... I feel it's right. So I'm curious, what is you daily deficit??
Mine is almost the exact same as yours. I'm 20, 5'1, 129 pounds (Down 1!!!). According to different calculators I burn anywhere from 1800-2400 calories a day (I'm assuming it's the lower end) and I eat around 1400-1500 calories a day. According to my WII fit I've lost about a pound and a half since about 2 weeks ago, so apparently something is happening.
I'm 5'2, 171 lbs, and according to CC burn around 1880 calories/day. I have my eat meter set at 1500/day which gives me a burn of 380 calories if I do nothing (but I do work out every day). I eat back calories if I hit over an 800 cal defecit, but usually stick to around 600-700 defecit/day
I burn 2050 without exercise, with exercise usually about 2400 and eat 1400-1500 so I usually have a deficit of 900-1000, if I don't exercise my deficit is usually 700-800
For me, a male at 26 & 127lbs, my daily burn limit is rated at 2050 without exercise but at moderate daily activity, my work enables me to constantly be on the move. With exercise I burn about 2550 - 2750 and my calorie intake is between 1400 - 1600 with a deficit of anywhere between 800 - 1000 cal's.
I started Jan 12, 2009 at 139lbs and 19% body fat to 127lbs and 11% body fat. My goal ultimately is 120lbs and 8% body fat.
I try to maintain at least a 300 cal deficit. Most of the time I maintain about a 500 - 600 cal deficit and once in awhile I go all out and pull a few 900 - 1000 calorie deficits. I don't tend to stick to any hard and fast rule ... just so long as I have a deficit. It is VERY rare I eat maintenane or below a 300 cal deficit (unless it is a very special occassion or I am trying to shock my metabolism a bit). I tend to lose most consistently when I try to maintain a 500 - 600 cal deficit ... I think 900-1000 is too much for my short little body. **shrugs**

Hey Gwen, Thanks for the response, I think that if I keep a deficit around 300, I'm pretty much doing maintenance... I think I have to root for a 500 cals deficit if I want to see results... I agree with you 900-1000 deficit is too much for me too.... ahhh long live to the short girls.... And have you noticed how hard it is to actually lose 1 calorie???? Yesterday I ran on the treadmill for 57 minutes (a great accomplishment for me!!!) and I spent 467 calories... My husband ran for 15 minutes for 155 calories.... ahhh so unfair...
