Current favorite food(s) from Trader Joe's
I just recently discovered the roasted veggie lasagna and I absolutely love it even though I'm a carnivore. ![]()
My tj's just started carrying these little meatless cutlets (kind of chickeny) that are stuffed with corn and black beans. 160 calories, 19 grams of protein, 100% awesome.
Sounds good - I like almost everything I've gotten from there. My current favorite is the dried blueberries, which I love to have on oatmeal in the morning - it makes oatmeal a treat.
love love love their hummus and veggie chips.
I LOVE their fresh salsa. I eat it plain, with a spoon, it's so good! ...or maybe Im just weird lol
mmmm Trader Joe's tamales... I love em. I'm going there (rare treat where i live) in a few days, so I'll be watching this thread!!!
I USED to really like the 8 grain crisps and white cheddar crisps... but they discontinued both of them :(!!
Other favorites: fat-free cottage cheese, pico de gallo salsa, eggplant hummus, and essential flaxseed bread. :)
When I go there, picking out which hummus I'm getting is the first thing I do. ![]()
But I've recently discovered a fabulous bacon and feta crustless quiche in the frozen section (only 200 cals!), and fish tacos! (I love fish tacos!)
TJ makes a great pasta sauce too. mmmmm
they have these egg white salads in spicy ranchero and chives now a greek one too sooo good with hot sauce like 100 cal for the whole thing and 14 grams of protein.. im hooked on them..
TJ has the best Sunflower Seed butter. My mom sends it to me every couple of months...love it
Their blintzi, and ahi tuna steaks.
UD
Sara, try their organic quinoa. I love it :)
now, I eat red quinoa. Even better.
mmm...yes, their quinoa. and their great trek mix bars which are 1.99 for six, each of which has only a 130 kcalories. And their frozen mixed peppers- I add it to quinoa, rice, whatever I feel like and its so much cheaper than buying 3 fresh peppers.
They also have an absolutely fabulous canned black bean soup which is to die for- a great, satisfying and low calorie meal.
They also make yummy 5 seed almond bars which are cookie substitutes and SOOOOOOOOOOO delicious and healthy.
Chili lime marinated tilapia, frozen mango cream bars (only 60 cals), freeze dried fruit... those are my current favs. love TJs :)
I'm really happy about this thread, I'm starting a shopping list for when I go there on Tuesday.
But here's another of my faves - 200 calorie packs of raw almonds!!
The Island Soyaki sauce is great for marinating meats. Also, the vegie burgers (Tomato Mozzarella) and the one that has an Indian flavor to it are the best. Hummus is the best Hummus I've tried (and I try a lot) and their marinated lamb in the bag is GREAT for kabobs.

Ohhh I wanna try the veggie burgers now...
I'm not even vegetarian, but veggie stuff is just so awesome! I always get weird questions when I'm going through the checkout line with tofu, morning star corn dogs, and a cart full of veggies.
ahhh trader joe's... my standard cart includes
- shrimp stir fry
- vegetable sushi
- chocolate mini meringues
- almond butter raw unsalted
- tomatoes
