I would really love to have one of those bodies with nice soft curves.....you know, like those girls with those perfect hips, tiny waist, etc. I have been in maintenance mode at 110 lbs for a while, but yet I still don't have those curves. So I changed back into weight loss mode, shooting for 105. But I am wondering, will losing more weight help me get the curves I want?

It depends on how your body is currently shaped.  If you still have excess flab around your stomach, then losing more weight may help, otherwise, losing weight could actually detract from any curves that you currently have.  I would say just try toning up your waist more and see what happens.

well, i don't have any flab at all on my stomach. I guess I am just hoping that losing a few more pounds will shrink my stomach some, thus making my waist smaller...but I am not totally sure if that's how it works.
what is a normal waist size anyway?
Curves are pretty much genetic.

Estrogen makes you store fat in your butt.  Some of us have a lot (I've taken Birth Control since I was 12, so I think that 'helps' heh, me store there)

My mom.. she is apple shape and will pretty much never store fat in her thighs or butt.  She would have to gain an obscene amount of weight to go up a pant size.

If anything gaining weight would probably help.  You could work on toning your stomach, that could give the illusion that you're waist is smaller while you gain in the other parts of your body.

Sounds.. difficult.
hmmm...never thought of that. Gaining weight pretty much scares the heck out of me though. I am quite paranoid about weight gain.
Well.. I mean logically, squishy soft curves = fat (not saying curvey people are fat, just that fat makes things soft).
true. how are some girls like size zero, but have great curves thought? I guess its the genetic thing again. Darn it. My gene pool never has done me many favors.
Well, they are probably short.

I'd die if I was a size zero XD, literally.
psssh....yah, me too. Well not literally. For a long time that was my goal, but I have determined that it probably is not something I can reach with my body type.
Well good luck, just stay healthy.  =)

I remember I use to be a size 2/3 when I was 14, 5'7", but I was a girl then, my hips widened, people say it's sexy and they wish they had my butt.  However, I pretty much hate it and nothing fits me in the nice fancy stores. =\

Some days are better than others... *sigh*

At least shirts fit me well, my mom has huge boobs so.. it's hard for her to find things that fit right, even though she weighs 3lbs less than me and isn't overweight at all.
Yah, isn't it always easier when you still have that girlish figure?

lol. I remember when I was in high school. I was a stick. I played every sport too, so I was toned. Now. well....lets just say time has changed things, and I am only in college. I do not stay slim naturally anymore, and I am so out of shape it is pathetic.
I bet I'm more out of shape =P

It's embarrassing to take classes at my gym, I'm always stopping half way through sets, and I can't even touch my toes!

I fall over sometimes during yoga too lol.

Yes... the things I would wear if I never let my weight get out of hand.

I've been pretty much bed ridden since I was 12, so I've lost most of my muscle mass.  I suffer from chronic pain, so every work out is doubly exhausting for me..

I know it's not my fault, but I just wish I would have found motivation sooner, even if it was just eating better.
well,  I can't really workout anymore. I mean, I can, but it isn't good for me. I started doing kickboxing classes for a while, but I would feel so depleted after about ten minutes, I would get dizzy, and feel like I was gonna pass out. So I had to quit. Now, I am busy with my job and school, and couldn't work out even if I wanted to. sigh.
Yeah, I couldn't take the kickbox cardio class, I actually almost passed out when my heart rate got too high.  I only made it through 25mins of the 60min class.

I take pilates and yoga, it doesn't get my heart rate up very high, and it has really toned my body.

I recently added body works, it's kinda like step with weights.  I can make it through 45 mins of the 60 mins and do about 80% of the sets.  I'm in so much better shape than last year when I joined this site last Feb.  I joined the gym last June.

I understand being busy, the only reason I can go is because I stopped school, and I only work 32 hrs a week.  I consider myself very lucky to have the chance to work on my health.

I gotta go, I'm getting off of work in 5 mins, and then I'm going to bed.  Take care, nice chatting with you =)

Heya, I had a look at your pics and to be honest I would LOVE to have your body!
You have a flat stomach and are in proportion, huny you dont need to loose any more weight.

Curves are over rated, I have a curvy body but its not that great as I find myself looking at the pictures of girls with a slim figure like yours and being just as envious of them cos you dont have to worry bout the odd bulge here and there.

If you put on a few pounds then you would have a more curvy look but as far as having perfect hips and tiny waist that is down to your body shape.
Theres apple, pear, collum etc so dont get too worried bout getting a small waist etc.

Stay healthy and love the body you have... its the only one you'll have Smile

You are so thin that losing any more weight won't make you any more curvy - just the opposite. The curves of the female form are created by small fat deposits, and if your weight is too low, you'll lose them... some people never have them in the first place - a lot of it depends on where your body wants to store its fat, and on how much fat you have to store. At 110 pounds, you don't have any to spare. You're also still very young - a woman's bodyshape keeps changing throughout her life. Lots of women don't really grow breasts and hips until their twenties, or until they get pregnant and their hormones shift.

I agree with the majority GENETICS, and bone structure is what makes your body the way it is. The last thing you need to do is lose any more weight, enjoy your slim figure, embrace your mini curves or no curves if you don't have any.

I too would like a different waist to hip ratio, (I don't think I have any hips) but you gotta work with what you got, wear things that emphasize your best features. Like on "what not to wear", you have to dress for your body type.

I am a newbie to this site and actually just started counting the calories etc on Monday. I hate to be redundant but you are likely only going to become curvier if you gain a few pounds. You would by the way still look absolutely fantastic!

I have to say how shocked and saddened I am by postings such as this. So many of the postings I have read have been from young women who are very thin who want to lose more weight.

I wish that I could impart and really make it understood how important it is to be happy with yourself but I know that's a battle we all have to fight on our own.

Please don't take this personally, its not meant to be as such. I'm just really sad that such beautiful young ladies are so unhappy with their apperance. We could go on and on about the reasons, the media, etc. Many of these same postings have discussed being healthy, but since when was too thin the goal of health? I must sound so naive, but I didn't realize it would be like this.

I love having curves and I'm terribly worried that when I get to my goal weight they'll be gone! I definately believe that putting on weight will give you come curves, make sure you tone as you go though, your stomach mostly. There's a nice sit up routine you can do to make your waist smaller, when you lay down with your legs and hips sideways to the floor but your back straight, then left yourself up! Padded bra too if your lacking in that area, makes your waist look smaller if you have bigger boobs! :)

I agree that curves are over-rated.  I am still curvey, but before I had kids, I was a brick-house. You know that song?  Problem was, I couldn't get pants to fit.  Everything gapped at the waist.  I wasn't happy until I had a good tailor and had my clothes made. Now-a days, the waist on jeans is lower, so maybe the issue would be less a problem.  Now, after two 9.5 pound babies my most notable curve is probably the muffin-top hanging over my jeans.

You look great.  I am with the crowd - you don't need to lose any more weight.  Work with what you got! Your body is perfect for today's styles.
