CUT the diet soda-----shakes? headache? NORMAL???

Quote  |  Reply
ahh--
now I'm drinking 1/2 gal. of water a day (plus whatever I get naturally out of the foods I eat)...
BUT---why would I have suddenly developed a constant SHAKY feeling (that feeling you get when you are hungry)---but I EAT EVERY 2 hrs. at LEAST so that's not it
aaand I've had a constant head-ache for the past 3 days...(the exact number of days I have CUT the soda from)......

Does this all line up? is this normal? I just wasn't sure so any advice would be helpful----THANKS TO ALL!

oohhh Sounds like you are missing your caffine... you could tough it out or grab a dark tea.
so....if I choose to "tough it out" does that mean it will go away eventually?
if so---how long?!! this sucks, even though I KNOW cutting soda,--even DIET soda from my system is the RIGHT thing----

caffeine withdraw definitely! classic symptoms-- and it is miserable. One of the hardest drugs to quit.. which I why I never will. :)  heheh

& yes, if you tough it out it will go away. Or you could try to wean yourself off a little slower than cold turkey.  It's an addiction, so treat it as such.

GOOD LUCK!

Kicking the caffeine will do that to you.  Alex managed to go a few weeks without it before the irritability got to be so intence, he's back to adding a bit of caffeinated soda, AKA regular Pepsi, in with his diet Pepsi just for sanity purposes.  For the most part, he drinks water when he's not at work and saves his soda concoction for while he's at work.

It'll get better, I promise. :D

i really really never get like that from caffeine withdrawal

i get sad!  i feel hopeless and want to just sit by myself and think sad thoughts

i feel as if i can please no one.  as if nothing i do will ever be good enough.

sometimes i feel so tired, so lethargic, i avoid any and all human contact.

if given the chance, i'd lie in a catatonic stupor.

no one believes me though.  and perhaps it is all in my head.  it probably is.  but if the symptoms are in my head too... that doesn't make them go away.

It does sound like caffeine withdrawals, but it could be in **** with phenylalanine withdrawals too. Phenylalanine is a byproduct of aspartame metabolism. People can get addicted to this along with the caffeine.
