Da Bronx baby!!!
Any suggestions of where to eat in the Bronx? Favorite things to do perhaps? I love a pizza place called Coals on Eastchester Road. They have nutella pizza which totally contributed to my weight problem a few years ago but is to DIE FOR. I also like to bring the kids to the Bronx Zoo ........... any other ideas????????
Dominick's on Arthur Avenue - no menu, they tell you what's good.

Sounds exciting!!!!!!
hi there. i'm new to this group... i live out here in san francisco but want to move to nyc around mid-year next year. i figured it couldn't hurt to begin making some new friends who are in the same boat as me - regardless of where we live! time to lose some weight and get in shape...
just wanted to say hello - i'm Julia - hope all is well in the Big Apple.
Planet Tokyo in Riverdale is my favorite Japanese sushi place in the Bronx. Also Jake's steakhouse if you're in the mood for a fabulous steak-not low cal. It's across from Van Cortlandt Park, on Broadway, at the last stop on the subway #1/9 line. Riverdale is a great place to live, great schools, pretty parks and if you're lucky you get a Hudson River view.
Hi everyone. I am from the bronx and looking for someone to talk to about this whole diet thing. I need support and encouragement. I once lost 65 pounds on WW. I am greatful for that because I no longer have high cholesterol or asthma and I am so proud of accomplishing something so meaningful. After I lost the weight I had my son who helped me put back on 28 pounds lost 18 pounds of that and now have this stubborn 10 pounds I keep losing and gaining for the past 2.5 years. I can't seem to get back on track I can't afford WW anymore but I was on it for such a long time that I don't think I will learn anything else from it but I would get the support and encouragement that I need. I have tried the message boards before and it helped alot so I am back again almost a year later. Anyone who wants to chat and share some ideas please please feel free to do so.
Thanks looking forward to hearing from anyone...
Kim
Kim,
I believe Smart Ones and Lean Cuisine are distributed by either Weight Watchers or Jenny Craig. They are always on sale at Stop+Shop or Waldbaums, and they also list the points on the box. Maybe that would be cheaper than joining WW again. Portion control is my problem. It's so much easier when someone is forcing you to eat the right amount with a prepared meal then if I'm left to my own devices. Anyway, congratulations on the 65 lb loss. That's amazing. I'm sure you'll get rid of those last 10 lbs too. We are all here to help with advice and motivation.
Good luck!
I lost 60 pounds using WW as well. I just found it difficult in translating points to food in the maintenance phase. I gained back about 15 pds myself and I just hate it!!!! Portion control is my problem as well. I'll be doing well and then binge, then feel like crap and the cycle repeats itself. I like to be accountable, but not really sure how,

i live around Southern Blvd and Westchester Ave. I finally made the commitment to drop weight. 222 on nov 24...currently at 216. I spend about 10 min accounting for the foods i eat on this website. Also i drink whey protein, which curbs my appetitite and i'm committed to working out everyday, except weekends. My buddies and i powerlift for about 90 min and to cardio 2 to 3 times a week for about 60 min each session. This is becoming a habit. I decided to commit to healthness of my body. No more junk. No more alchohol. No more fatty foods. I've decided to be disciplined about what I eat. I'm not going to let tempation win anymore. The hardest part is saying no to our friends who drink alchohol, eat whatever they want, and are not at your thought process. It's not easy. Not only that, but I work 10 to 11 hrs a day. Of course, I'd rather go home than to the gym. It's been 2 weeks now and I feel GREAT. I wake up in the morning and I'm ready to go. No more Monday blues. No more day to day disappointment. Going forward, as long as I stick to my daily plan, I'm going to reach my goals. 200lbs by 2nd week in Jan. Goal 2: 180 by 2nd week in Mar. Anyway, just thought I might share a little. No more diets for me. It's really a quality decision to make a lifestyle change for the rest of my life. Have a nice weekend everyone. Thx.
