We had a bank come into the office today to try to get us to switch banks and they brough pizza! It smelled so good and I couldn't resist. I ate 3 pieces, 900 calories! wow that was dumb. I was planning on working out today anyway, if I elliptical today for 60 min and burn 600 calories and eat a 300 cal dinner, am I still good for the day? Or will this make my weight go up. Thanks!

If you've been eating healthy, your weight may go up temporarily (mostly because of the sodium content of the pizza), but it won't last. Just get in a good workout, drink tons of water, eat a normal dinner and start fresh tomorrow :)
As long as you burn up the extra calories and stay in a deficit you're straight. Sucks doing the extra work though.
I am sure that you will be fine.Just make sure to drink plenty of water. And have maybe a light dinner like a salad,Good luck!
one piece of pizza shouldn't mess you up... just don't let it be an excuse to ruin the rest of the day (my downfall)! drink extra water and go for the low-cal dinner. good luck. :)
it's better you had it earlier in the day, so you can burn off the calories better.
and it wasn't that bad. Life is short. You enjoyed it...........you don't do it every day..........don't beat yourself up. As a friend told me, whats the point of exercising and watching calories if you can't have something you want once in awhile.

Today I volunteered setting up a trade show.... my friend heads up the show. I had left the house this morning without a lunch plan, and as I rode with my friend, was not able to drive to buy something. Well, pizzas were bought for volunteers. I had one piece of veggie pizza and diet soda. I didn't keep count, but after a while I began to watch who went back for seconds, thirds and 4ths. In general the number of pieces eaten corresponded with overall body weight. The heaviest man (he was obese) ate four pieces. Short overweight guys ate 3. A lean 6'3 guy ate three... he was maybe 180 pounds. Overweight/not obese women (about 150 to 180) ate 2, maybe three. I can afford one piece, within my calorie allotment for the day.
Learning you can eat just one piece is something you get with practice. The more you practice restraint, the easier it gets to do. The more you dgive in, the harder it gets to be restrained in the future.

Can someone clear me up on how much cals a real italian pizza has? I mean those with really really thin ______(what you call it in english? the white "bread" where you put the ham, cheese and tomatoes on...).
They can't have the same amount of cals like those american-pizza like stuff with one inch thick breadstuff(argh what's the word?^^).

Ugh, same thing with me today! I was doing great and then one of my coworkers decided to 'treat' us all with Pagliacci's - the best pizza in the world. I only had one piece and that was REALLY hard, but it was also REALLY good! Too bad there isn't nutritional info online, I am not sure how much it was, but it's the tomato/basil/olive oil so it can't be that terrible.
And the crust was relatively thin.
Yes, crust makes a huge difference. Papa Murphys pizza has a regular crust and a super thin crust, and the thin has 1/2 the cals and fat as the regular with the same toppings.

Oh, and the super thin crust papa murphys pizza has around 175 cals a slice (1/10th of a large pizza). So that's probably relatively close to the thin crust pizza elsewhere. When I say thin, I mean cracker thin - it's SO good!
Something I find that helps with eating pizza is eating it with a knife and fork and cutting it into small pieces. Takes longer to eat and makes you feel like you had more than you did.
I did get in a good workout last night and I weighed in one pound lighter this morning, haha. But I know better for next time :)
great job! you did exactly what you should have! when you mess up and eat something unhealthy/high cal, your next meal, or the rest of your day, should be light (still eat though), and then just work out a little extra. also, do you have a "cheat day"? you should designate yourself one day a week where you can cheat at one meal, usually people pick dinner or dessert. try to make it a day that you know you'll be working out, that helps with the guilty feeling. but it really takes some stress off! check it out! every good diet plan reccommends one. weight watchers has a point system right? but they allow you 35 points a week or something that you can use, weather you spread them out or use them all at once is your call, but its still the same idea. try it. it works for me, at least
