All opinions are welcome!
I lost over 150 lbs in a year and 3 months.
As I try and gain some weight back I have cut from daily cardio to Sundays off.
I am not seeing the weight gain on want.
Any opinions on what the body's response is when you go to every other day when you have been doing six days a week?
Well, because I've been on another thread of yours I know that you cannot gain with your current calorie intake and exercise regime.
You need 3000 or more calories a day as a guy to gain (and that's if you were bed ridden -- no exercise ever).
If you have cardio sessions that involve using up an additional 300-600 or more calories then you'll need that in food beyond the 3000 base line to get a steady gain happening.
I don't believe you are underweight now so you can continue exercising (usually exercise is not recommended when underweight people are trying to gain) and you have eased up on the schedule as well.
There's no easy way around it -- you have to cover off the calorie deficit you create every time you exercise and then eat to gain beyond that.
I guess when you love to eat it is a good problem to have but the exercise takes up a lot of time!
I might want to eat less if I exercised less?
Well, you're still trying to gain on probably too little calories in even it you stopped exercising altogether. So, there's really no way around needing to up the calories -- it's just if you stay in exercise mode then the calories are going to have to go up even higher.
So if you're struggling to get up to 3000, then maybe do stop the exercise for now and focus on getting to that baseline of calories in. Then see what happens from there.
Best of luck.
