Good morning!
Are we all recovered from the Super Bowl? Anyone with indulging confessions to make? I pretty much tossed healthy out the window and ate what I pleased. Woke up feeling miserable, but dragged my butt out of bed and did a great workout and plan to eat very light all week. Hopefully I won't show a gain on Friday.
Rachel
I was a little bad on Saturday, not horrible though. I'm pretty sure I made up for it Sunday. I slept late, got up at 11:00 and then I cleaned the entire upstairs of my townhome, I finished up around 7:30ish. To eat yesterday I had a cup of coffee, an apple, and a bowl of beef stew. Not intentionally, I just never got hungry and never stopped to think about it. I'm pretty sure I burned more yesterday than I ate in 2 days. Today I feel sore like I worked out hard.
We had the superbowl on the tv upstairs, but only because I had gotten in on the poll at work and had to know the score each quarter. We are an Indianapolis Colts household, so we didn't really watch the game.
I ate a little over.. not too bad. I did have a small pizza grinder at Rudino's on Sunday but the day before I did major cleaning (6 hrs). I woke up so sore and had charlie horses in both calves at the same time! oouchh! Oh, and I confess that I ate some Girl Scout Cookies! haha
I didn't walk this morning since I'm working from home. I am going to do it at 11:30.... and I'm dreading it! I haven't walked since Thursday last week.
Kalipzo, are you a Hoosier? Just curious since you said you were a Colts fan. We live in Columbus, Indiana and my DH is a huge Colts fan too. Even I was thrilled the year they went all the way :) I'm personally not a big football fan at all, just like the commercials and when the home team does well.
Congrats to both of you on eating well. I think I did OK until I ran out of stuff to do on Sunday and then I started nibbling. Way too much. Well, I plan to make up for that!
Jenn, have fun walking -- it may be easier than you think. Plus it'll probably work out all the soreness.
Rachel
Yes I am a hoosier born and raised! I am in Chesterton, way up in the northwest corner. Most people around here are Bears fans, we take a lot of crap for being colts fans. That year they went all the way and it was Colts/Bears in the bowl was a big, big game up here. I do not watch a lot of football but when I am forced to watch it I alwas find myself "getting into it".
Wow, a fellow hoosier here :) Awesome! I was born in Chicago, but we moved to this state when I was 6 so I've been a hoosier about 6 times longer than I was an Illini so that counts, right?
I walked and showered during lunch! You're right Rachel.. I feel so much better and my legs aren't as sore!
Absolutely, that counts! Jen, I'm going to work out after work today, I hope it helps my muscles too.
I bought some vanilla soy protein powder at lunch for me to have after workouts. I wanted whey protein because everyone says to get whey, but all they had was chocolate, strawberry, and cookies and cream in the whey. I have read that soy causes an increase in estrogen and a decrease in testosterone, if this is true, will using this one in place of the whey for a week or so be harmful do you guys think? Cuz the last thing I need is to mess with my hormone balance!
I've had vanilla soy protein shakes before, and I drink soy milk occasionally (and use it in my cereal and homemade smoothies). I've personally never noticed a hormonal imbalance, but then, I don't know if I'd recognize being out of balance. I doubt it would matter over just a week's time and then if you get the whey protein next, you'll work it out of your system quickly. Do you find it better for you to have that protein after a workout? I do my workout first thing in the morning and have breakfast within 30 minutes of finishing so I think I do OK with that.
Yay for working out the sore muscles!!!
I've done well today -- my plan allows me 1800 calories a day, and I had just over 1500. After last night's indulgences, I really need to have several light days in a row so this is a good start.
Later, Rachel
