I have been getting an average of 35 grams which is about 18% of my fat intake. Saturated fat is ave. of 9 grams unless I eat some meat (rarely).

Is this a problem and what is the down side of this? I have been weight lifting the last few days. Will be taking a break for 2 days. Very sore and feels soooo good!

Just wondering if I am getting enough fat intake and the good/bad points. I always get an A on my analysis.

BTW....3 more pounds and I am below 200!! 10 years of being this heavy and now I am gonna be my old normal size in a few months when reach I my goal.

Based on my experience, 35 grams should be fine. Too low and you start to see negative effects like dry skin and hair falling out. I'm sure experts can give more scientific answers, but to this lay-person, 35 grams sounds reasonable for someone trying to lose weight.

Thank you! That helps.

The "good" thing about fat is that it helps you feel full and less likely to binge or overeat later.   A pat of butter on bread in the morning, lowfat dairy or serving of nuts for a snack is all good and may help you control what you eat later in the day.

I think it's fine. But if you start feeling like you want to eat like crazy, just kick up the fat to 25%. It helps keep you feeling satisfied.

Your fat intake is fine but be careful of a few things. Saturated and Trans fats together should not go over 20 grams. What you are looking for is more fats that are unsaturated (poly & mono-unsaturated fats) which you can find in foods like almonds, peanut butter, avocados,  olive oil & other foods of such.

Thank you. I have very low trans and saturated fat. Most of my fat comes from peanut butter (love it with an apple) and a little olive oil sometimes. Tonight I am going to eat 4 oz steak so that will up it a bit but it is rare for me to do that. I have been lifting and need some more UMMFF so I am craving meat..wierd. Also love almonds and pistachios but in moderation due to calories!

I hate that there's nowhere to enter poly and mono-unsaturated fats on CC!
