I've searched throughout the forums but I just want to be completely certain...so on exercise days : calories eaten - calories burned = goal calorie intake for the day....for example I aiming for 1700 today (zig zag) and will be working out later in which i burn 300-400 calories so does this mean i should eat 2000-2100 calories today? Thanks for any response!
what are your goals? if maintenance is your goal then eat back the calories, as long as your net intake doesn't dip below 1200 calories, then you don't NEED to increase your intake on workout days, although you might want to add and extra 100 calories or so just to keep you satisfied and not famished.
so, for example, if you ate 1700 calories, and burned 900 at the gym during an intense aerobics class [hypothetical since most don't burn that much] then your net intake would only be 800 and it would be advisable for you to eat at least 400 more so that your body has enough energy to perform its basic metabolic processes for survival. does that make sense?
anyhow, congrats on your commitment to becoming a healthier, fitter, and thinner you :)
well I'm zigzagging so I work out like 5 times a week so i want to keep to 1300, 1500, 1700 and want to know if i need to eat back calories i burn to get stay at my goals? like i said 2000 eaten - 300 burned = 1700 goal? is that right?
yes correct!! how is zigzagging working for you?
I just started so I'll let ya know but I'm feeling good about it
thanks!
