had my daily maintainance calories for breakfast
The title says it all; i'm trying to lose weight. Yesterday I went 400 calories over my allowed limit for the day, and today I've had all the way up to my maintainance calories for BF and its only 9am. What should I do now? At this rate I'm never going to lose my goal weight *sighs*
Thank you!
What number of cals do you maintain on? Are you sure you're not overestimating what was in the breakfast you ate? It'd be quite hard to eat a normal amount of maintainance cals in one sitting. Having said that, if you did, just eat normally for the rest of the day but choose as many low-cal foods as you can to fill you up. Tomorrow is a new day, you can make better choices.

It was a binge, so yes :( I was actually surprised as I normally go way overboard on around +3000 calories, but I'm having a little teeny-weeny more control recently, and yesterday I was able to stop it at 400 cals and today at 1800 (those are my maintainance calories).
Since I am an all-or-nothing binger, I am afraid that by eating normally I will have another binge. However, I will follow the advice of those that are wiser (you and other people in this forum) and give it a try.
Thank you, I hope I can one day eat like a normal person!
Take a look at your environment, your cupboard contents.... and what you chose for breakfast. If you have foods that you can't stop at just one portion (some people have a problem with breakfast cereals, for example) then don't have them around, choose something else. Equally, don't keep a full cupboard of food - just have enough around for the next few meals. Have a good-sized breakfast ... the combination of protein and fibre (such as something like boiled eggs and wholegrain toast) tends to be the most filling
Eat normally for the rest of the day now and you should be fine.
Don't overrestrict yourself for the rest of the day. Eat normally, just avoid anything very calorie-heavy. If you go to bed hungry you're just setting yourself up for another breakfast binge tomorrow because you'll be so hungry at breakfast time your body will demand food in quantity. That's a perfectly normal reaction to hunger, so try to avoid it. Tomorrow is a new day and you can start afresh.
