In his heart a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps. Proverbs 16:9
Never do today what you're not willing to do for the rest of your life. Take one day at a time.
Give us today our daily bread. Matthew 6:11
Let the Lord fill (comfort) the empty places of our heart instead of reaching for food as the comfort.
Psalms 1:3 And he will be like a tree firmly planted by streams of water, which yields its fruit in its season, And its leaf does not wither; And in whatever he does, he prospers.
Stay productive. Look for purpose in your life. If you quit producing you will stop growing and living. Meditate on His word - be firmly planted. Live a satisfied life.
Luke 12:29-31 (NAS) "And do not seek what you shall eat, and what you shall drink, and do not keep worrying. For all these things the nations of the world eagerly seek; but your Father knows that you need these things. But seek for His kingdom, and these things shall be added to you."
Thank you for posting this verse.
With the present world economy mess, we can't help but to worry where the next paycheck is going to come from.
We just need to put on our "Faith" boots and Stand firm on His word.
Ephesians 6:12 "For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms."

I always get excited when I read this verse! I'm ready to fight the spiritual battle!
God grant me serenity to accept the things I cannot change and courage to change the things I can and wisdom to know the difference.
Phillipians 4:6
Be anxious for nothing, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God.
Keep God first and His will be done.....
Have a great day and REJOICE.....![]()
Peace my brothers and sisters.....
Proverbs 25:27,28 (NAS) It is not good to eat much honey, Nor is it glory to search out one's own glory. Like a city that is broken into and without walls Is a man who has no control over his spirit.
One of our newest members repairerofthewalls shared this scripture in her journal along with the following thought "It made me wonder if I overeat sometimes because of seeking honor or glory or comfort for my self. Hmmm."
Sure gave me something to think about, how about you?
Matthew 6:13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one.
Out of love, my husband brings "treats" but I know I will succumb so I ask them to be removed from my sight. I do not want to be tempted to eat it all.
This is what the Lord says to you: "Do not be afraid or discouraged because of this vast army. For the battle is not yours, but God's." II Chronicles 20:15
Blessed is the man who perseveres under trial, because when he has stood the test, he will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him. James 1:12
Praise the Lord, O my soul, And all that is within me, praise His holy name. Praise the Lord, O my soul and forget none of His acts of kindness. He forgives all my sins. He heals all my diseases. Psalm 103:1-3
God's Word makes it perfectly clear that it is God's will you are to be well, healthy, and whole. The same blood that Jesus shed on Calvary's tree for your redemption was also shed that you might be free from sickness and disease. Matthew 8:17 says that Jesus Himself bore our sicknesses and carried our diseases. He did that for you; and if He carried them for you, then you don't have to carry them. Healing is God's promise to you. But just because it's God's will for your life doesn't mean it will automatically happen. You have to believe His promises, reach out for them in faith, and snatch them for yourself. Everything you receive from God you receive by faith. A key factor in releasing your faith is the words that come our of your mouth. There is power released into your life when you speak God's Word. It is a vital part of appropriating God's promises and activating spiritual forces that will bring God's promises to manifestation.
The Lord does not delay and is not tardy or slow about what He promises, but the Bible says that He is alert and active watching over His Word to perform it (2 Peter 3:9, Jeremiah 1:12). Meditate on and confess the promises of God until they become more real to you than your challenge (2 Corinthians 4:17-18).
Nevertheless I am continually with Thee; Thou hast taken hold of my right hand. Psalm 73:23 (NAS)
One of the joys of being with kids is holding their hands. We do it to keep them safe while crossing the street, or keep them from getting lost in a crowd. And whenever they stumble and lose their footing, we grab their little hands tighter to keep them from falling.
That's what God does for us. Inevitably there are stones and cracks that trip us up on the sidewalks of life. That's why it's easy to identify with the psalmist, who said, "My steps had nearly slipped" (Psalm 73:2)
We all face a variety of issues that threaten to make us stumble. For the psalmist Asaph, seeing the prosperity of the wicked caused him to question the goodness of God. But God squeezed his hand and reassured him that, given the judgment of God, the wicked do not prosper. True prosperity, the psalmist discovered, was found in the fact that God was always with him: "You hold me by my right hand" (vs 23). And just for good measure, God reminded him that He would also guide him through life and ultimately welcome him home to heaven (vs 24). How good is that!
So, next time you stumble, remember that the powerful hand of God is holding your hand and walking you through life - all the way home!
Let God do the holding and you do the trusting.
For the Christian thanksgiving is not just a day but a way of life.
Psalm 100:1 Make a joyful shout to the LORD, all you lands.
Psalm 100 is one of the great songs of thanksgiving in the Bible. It calls us to realize that we belong to God our Maker (vs. 3-4) and to praise Him for His goodness, mercy, and truth (v. 5).
True thankfulness is more than being grateful for what we possess. It's an attitude thta permeates our relationship with the Lord so that we may serve Him with gladness and joy.
Matthew 14:20 and the all ate, and were satisfied. And they (the disciples) picked up what was left over of the broken pieces, twelve full baskets.
Lord, forgive me for not paying attention to how much food I've eaten in the past. Help me to see that I don't need a massive amount of food to survive. I only need enough to make me healthy and strong. Give me wisdom in the moment, Lord. ~Amen
Proverbs 15:30 (NIV) A cheerful look brings joy to the heart, and good news gives health to the bones.
"Weeping may endure for a night, but joy comes in the morning." Psalm 30:5
The psalmist is declaring the comforting idea that our earthly sorrow last but a short time when compared with the anticipated joy that will begin in heaven and last forever.
For now, those of us who weep can dwell on hope instead of hopelessness and anticipation instead of sorrow. It may be nighttime in our hearts, but just ahead lies the dawn of eternity. And with it, God promises the endless joy of heavenly morning.
We can endure this life's trials because of the next life's joys.

This reminds me of a song that our church has started singing. I have been singing this song all day.
Your Light broke through my night
Restored exceeding joy
Your Grace fell like the rain
And made this desert liveYou have turned my mourning into dancing
You have turned my sorrow into joy
You have turned my mourning into dancing
You have turned my sorrow into joyYour hand lifted me up
I stand on higher ground
Your praise rose through my heart
And made this valley singYou have turned my mourning into dancing
You have turned my sorrow into joy
You have turned my mourning into dancing
You have turned my sorrow into joyThis is how we overcome
This is how we overcome
This is how we overcome
This is how we overcomeYou have turned my mourning into dancing
You have turned my sorrow into joy
You have turned my mourning into dancing
You have turned my sorrow into joy
