how does my daily menu look??

hey, i was hoping for some input on healthy eating....please take a look at todays meal plan and tell me what you think!!

B- egg whites on an english muffin with a banana

S- orange

L-lean cuisine ravoli

S-100 cal pack of popcorn

D-large salad with grapes

S-weight watchers muffin and cup of coffee (i have an exam i have to study for...hense the late nite caffene choice)

Girl,

Seriously?  It looks like you're not eating enough at all!  What does that add up to? It can't be more than 1000 cals.  That's way too low.

Its simply not enough.  Have the whole eggs for breakfast... great source of protein.  Lean Cuisine is processed junk... not very nutritious.  A large salad?  Where are the wholegrain carbohydrates & the proteins?   Most of all you need some fats and you need some calcium & iron in your diet.  Good fats like olive oils keep your wheels turning and your brain functioning.  So don't be frightened of them.  Calcium as in low-fat dairy products and dark green vegetables limits the absorption of fat into the body and is also vital for strong bones.  Iron - red meat, wholemeal bread, pulses - is vital for young women if you don't want to be at risk of anaemia

So do eat more in total or you're going to make yourself ill.

Definitely need more protein as well. All of your snacks should have some protein so that you stay fuller, longer. I choose fruit as my snacks but if I have an apple, I'll eat a tablespoon of PB with it.  I'll have another fruit in the afternoon and eat a mini babybel with it. Fruit on its own is a disaster for being hungry again in an hour.

Salad definitely needs protein as well, tuna, chicken or beans will help.

great! thank you so much for the imput, im gonna switch the popcorn and have an apple with PB and for dinner, im gonna add chicken to the salad.

S- orange - add a dairy product

L-lean cuisine ravoli - add a large serving of vegetables and a fruit to this

S-100 cal pack of popcorn - add some raw veggies and a yogurt dip to this

D-large salad with grapes - add a serving of protein, either meat, poultry, fish or beans, or tofu

S-weight watchers muffin and cup of coffee (i have an exam i have to study for...hense the late nite caffene choice) - this is junk.  Try a high protein snack such as some slices of deli turkey, and complex carbs, perhaps from a slice of whole grain toast.  Or you could try to get more needed dairy products from some cottage cheese.

Do some reading about food groups.  Google Food Pyramid.  Read articles on nutrition in the CC+ Library
