damn scale!!!!

I just don't understand my scale! It makes me so angry I just want to kick it. Yesterday I got on it and it said that I weighed 223. That's cool, I've finally gotten rid of the 6 pounds of water/potato chips weight that I put on during my month-long no-logging eat-what-I-want vacation. Hooray! I spent the evening eating a very nice dinner (NY strip, sweet potato, corn), drinking my ass off (it was sort of an accident, I swear), walking to and from the bar and having some abnormally amazing sex. Now, you would think that after all that sinful indulgence (more sinful to my waistline than anything else) I'd be up, right? Nope - 219 (I don't usually get on the scale two days in a row, but I was curious.) There's no way! I'm bloated and gorged with dee-licious food and booze.

Is anyone else who is being driven insane by their scale? Maybe we should start a boycott?

strangely, i always weigh less after a night of drinking. people say that's because it's dehydrating, but (TMI) my pee is most always that hydrated light yellow color, so idk. i just roll with it.

I'm with ya!

For awhile i was keeping careful track of my weight on this website and logging it every day.  i was even willing to accept a little bit of yo-yoing....i figured that was normal when you first start trying really hard to get in shape.  FINALLY....I had lost 4 lbs for several days straight and i felt like i was on my way.  But after another 2 days of eating the same way (AND exercising)....i had GAINED 5 lbs!!  it was very discouraging and made me want to stop checking my weight.

also, its not necessarily always a good gauge because if you're building muscle too, you could be losing fat + building muscle and weigh the same

I also seem to weight less right after a night of drinking. Not sure why either, but usually i weight 1-2 pounds less with drinking(booze).

I refuse to have a scale in my house. I've found them to be wildly inaccurate. I had one about a year ago that got all these rave reviews for being soooo accurate, and I could seriously weigh myself 8 times in a row and have each one be a different weight. Thankfully the gym I go to has a professional medical scale, but if I didn't have access to one, I don't think I'd weigh myself unless I was at a friend's house who had a scale or if I had a doctor's visit. They're way too frustrating.

You're going to drive yourself insane if you try and weigh yourself every day, so don't bother.  It could just be that you're dehydrated or something.  Weigh yourself once a week, the same day and same time every time.

Yup my scale and I have "issues". Yup I swear there's some demonic imp that's trying to drive me batty. My scale and my dr's differs by five lbs believe me scales annoy the heck out of me!
