Dance Your A** Off?
Has anyone watched this show?
It is on right now and I find it to be embarrassing, they put these people in skimpy outfits that do not make them look good and have them bounce around with all their stuff jiggling everywhere.
I'm not saying overweight people can't be dancing on tv, I think its a great idea for weight loss, it just seems a little.....I don't know....it just doesn't seem like they went about making this show appealing...I guess it just doesn't seem to me like their contests are being put in a good light.
I agree with you. I watched a few dances earlier on today and was completely embarressed for the contestants.
What shocked me is that one woman in particular seemed especially proud of her weight jiggling around on the dance floor? I don't know, maybe it's because I've always been extremely sensitive about my weight, but I don't see how one could honestly go on television and shout out their pride for being 100+ pounds overweight? I guess since it's a weight loss show I'm looking at it all wrong, but that's just what it looked like to me.
I haven't seen it, but I've seen posters in the subway stations. The outfits they wear in the posters don't seem especially skimpy. What are they wearing on the show?
Aw man! UK TV sucks!
If that was on over here I'd deffinatly watch it. I can see where the cringe factor comes in but kudos to them.
Geez, I would totally watch this show! It is awesome! Bummer for anyone living outside the US...oh well, perhaps I can be content with what is on youtube.
It just proves that people will do anything for their fifteen minutes.
You ask me what I wanted to be
And now I think the answer is plain to see...
I wanna be famous

Out of the three, I think Trice's outfit was the scariest. They could've made a something that was a little more flattering for her. Unfortunately, though, they are going for the ratings, not the dignity of the performers.

Definitely not what they're wearing in the posters!
I didn't think any of the outfits were bad. And I found those 3 videos extremely motivating!
Meh....to each their own. I just think they could have dressed them up better to flatter their figures, I think it downgrades their beauty.
But, who am I to say.
I missed the premiere of the show so thanks to Jewels for posting at least 3 of the dances.
Man, they can DANCE! I'll give them that. The outfits arent TOO bad, not as bad as I thought they might be. Part of this competition I would imagine is to build confidence and you def. have to have some sort of confidence to wear any of those outfits so kudos to them.
May just have to catch the second episode of this when it comes on this coming week. I think in a summer of constant reruns and nothing on this may be a breath of fresh air. :)

Good point.
Maybe they have dressed them so bad so that throughout the series when they start to loose more weight & look slimmer they'll start dressing them a bit better so they have more extreme before & after comparrison.
Whether you are fat or skinny, revealing outfits can make you feel sexy (whether you look it or not). And I think feeling sexy makes it easier to loosen up and dance.
I would rather be clubbed then dance on tv in those outfits.

and alcohol. I've heard.
Snap, I agree that the producers are probably going for the ratings rather than the contestants esteem unfortunately. There is always that "gawp" factor isn't there. Having said that, good on the contestants as I certainly don't look too bad compared to some but would NEVER get up and do that to myself. Am dying to get back to dancing though - I used to teach ballet, ballroom and latin and LOVE it as a form of aerobic fitness without killing my asthmatic lungs. Just wish my husband would put his self-consciousness aside and learn too. My ex husband was a total b@st@rd but he was a ballroom dancer of some talent. Shame he beat the lessons into me I suppose LOL but at least I ended up a good dancer too ... .

Thank you for sharing that. Those ladies are an inspiration! I give them all the best rating for getting out there and gettin their grove on! I just might go back and watch some of the other performances. Please, anybody, what network is that show on? Thanks
