dance dance revolution anyone??
Has any one heard of ppl losing weight while playing this?
I just bought it for something to do and there is a work out mode.Who knew lol
Durning this mode you can count calories of how much you burned. You can make a mini profile with your weight and goal and at the end it shows you everything, and it also shows it that if you where jogging what you would have burned.
Just seeing if anyone has played and actually lost weight or inches.
maybe im out of shape but im finding it hard on beginner lol
Good luck every one
Ah yeah I loved DDR, it was my first regular exercise regiment. A few years ago when I first started and I was obese I remember dropping 10 pounds thanks to DDR. Careful about doing it barefoot on some of the harder songs though because I began having some bad aches and pains.
Oh and it has been getting steadily harder, except for maybe the wii version. Beginner now is like moderate on the first iteration.
I just got DDR Universe 2 for the Xbox 360. I liked it when I did it last week, and really felt like I was sweating. I haven't used the workout mode yet, but I plan to. I just need to try to play more often. How many calories do you typically burn playing???

There is plenty of info about it if you google it. Many success stories. There are even quite a few threads about it on here with testimonials. The short answer is: yes, you can lose weight with it. You just get what you put into it.
It's excellent cardio and if you really like the songs, you won't notice you are working out at all. I used to play DDR as a supplemental cardio to my weight training and I lost weight most definitely. I even bought another PS2 after my brother upgraded so I could play again!
Good luck and make sure you're playing at a high enough level for long enough!
I playing it almost daily when I was in high school and I probably lost around 10lbs. And a couple of my friends lost some weight too. It is definitely a work out for me, and i figure anything that gets your heart rate up and sweating is a good work out. :D
I was wondering how we would go about logging this on here though? Im not sure if my DDR game has the workout mode where it tracks calories or whatever so what would i do?
Right now I play now and then but I kinda got bored of it since I had played it so much...lol. Right now I am just going to the gym and in my off days play DDR Supernova 2 to finish unlocking all the songs, since I have not yet unlocked everything in the game (dang mission modes!). Also I really did not use the workout mode that much because it took up some too much memory on my memory card.
I suggest doing the nonstop modes that they have in the game. Once you mastered beginner and easy mode you can do this nonstop easy mode that you basically play until you fail, I really like this mode! so challanging! I believe this is from DDR Max 2 with the nonstop modes, the other DDR's have like an Oni mode that differs and is ok imo.
I love playing DDR. I can notice how my endurance builds as the harder songs get easier and easier. Unfortunately my current living situation provides no space for my Afterburner metal pad. Boyfriend's parents think it's stupid and takes up space.
Best wishes
