I'm .8 pounds away from being offically done with recovery! WOOT! Haha, I'm feel pumped right now... Maybe I should go have another muffin or something and try to make it go up a teensy bit more; I want to be finished with all this! Finally, I won't have to keep eating multiple(more than three) meals a day. I've been eating 3,000 to gain, and my maintenence is 1,700, so I think for the next few days I'm going to start at 2,000 and see where that gets me. Now all I have to wonder about is Thanksgiving dinner, but actually, I kinda already have a plan - I'm making some healthy sides, but I'm going to enjoy small portions of other things if I want to. Honestly though, the thought of gravy-covered, buttery, and cream laden mashed poatoes doesen't really appeal to me though, so I think I'll be okay.
I'm going to stay on the Health forums, even though I'm basically recovered; I still want to help out everyone else. But I'm also going to check out the Maintenence forums, since I could use some advice...

Congratulations!
Just keep in mind it's advisable that you eat more than 3 times a day, just to avoid overeating when you eat your 3 big meals.
good for you :)
but if you go from eating 3000cal a day to 2000cal or 1700cal wouldnt you end up losing weight since it is such a big difference from what your body is used to eating/burning lately?
Good point. I think at 13 years old you shouldn't drop below 2,000.
I hope you realize how strong you are for such a young girl. You should be very proud of yourself, you're a true inspiration! :)
But I agree with Carmen and David. To find out your maintenance calories, I would decrease your calories by 100 every week until you stop gaining and just maintain. No one should drastically increase or decrease their calories - it should be done gradually so the body can adjust.

I have really been following your post for a while and I remember when you wanted to give in and give up. I am soo proud of you. And even though I am still going through this I know that there is eventually an end of the road for all of us if we are really willing to fight during recovery. Just remember that even though you are recovered weight wise, make sure that you really deal with your mental emotional thoughts of ED as well. Please stay on the right track (start by eating normally and not even focusing on cals), because you dont want to relapse. Anyway, great job to you...and please keep us updated on your life!!
I'm proud of you but your asking for trouble dropping your calories that much. At the most you should do it by a few hundred calories. If your gaining on 3000 you will need way more then 2000 to maintain. You don't want the ed mindset to come back and the cycle to start. Also just because you gain the weight doesn't mean recovery is over. Its a huge start but recovery is a process of the mind and body. Please think about your intake though.
You're doing absolutely wonderful zebulancherry !!! I'm so so happy and proud of you! You are coming through the storm victorious!! All your posts have been so encouraging to me! You have given me strength and a new hope to get better!! Thanks for proving to me and everyone else that ED's are beatable and that nothing is imposiable!!! YOU GO GIRL!!
If you've been at 3000, try dropping down just a few hundred this week and then again next week. If you still need to the week after, cut a few more.
You've got .8 left to gain and it really would be good to have a little room for error.
:D Thanks everyone, so much.
I'm not going to do anything drastic just yet, I'm just going to eat about 2,500 for the next day or so and see how I do. I'll be away from CC and my scale for the next few days when I visit my grandma for Thanksgiving weekend though...but I'll manage. I'm going to try and just estimate while I'm there, and make smart choices.
And yes, I always eat more than three times a day; I'd get too hungry if I didn't now that I'm used to it. ^-^

Congrats zebulancherry! I'm so proud of you for fighting and beating your demons! You're living proof that it IS possible and an inspiration to us all. Have a good thanksgiving at your grandma's, and remember: enjoy the company and the holiday, including the food, but don't go overboard or underboard (yes, I just made up that word) and freak yourself out. It is only a day, and a great one to enjoy, not obsess over. Good luck!
Congratulations girl! It's awesome that you were able to do this for yourself. Keep up the good work :)
