Dangit! I'm at 950cal and its only 2:45PM!
I'm having one of those days - where it doesn't matter what I eat I'm never satisfied or full and justwant to eat more.
Suggest you invest in a large bag of carrots and another of apples. When the munchies next strike treat yourself to a few of those. You'll be fine....
I hate when that happens! gi-jane gave a good comment above though... only thing to add is chew gum and keep busy!
i used to log my calories religiously and found i actually ate more. it was helpful in figuring out portions though, but i have since stopped. i find i now eat less AND i can keep track of my portions. maybe your knowing how many cals you ate is making you upset and makes you want to eat more because you feel like you blew it...? that's how i felt and is why i stopped counting.
it's all about making good choices and indulging (responsibly) once in a while. don't feel bad about it, it only makes it worse. breathe, reboot, and just eat healthy. and exercise. i found that this worked better for me (but i still log on here to chat cuz i like the ppl here and for the recipes).

i wouldnt worry if your at 950 already. Just go for a long jog or bike ride. IT will help shed some and if you dont want to eat more then deff. keep your self busy. I get home at 4:00 and im usually hungry by 5/5:30 but my b'f doesnt get home till 7/8 and we eat dinner together. I try my hardest not to snack during that time. A glass a milk does help. or i'll eat half of a peanut butter sandwhich w. 1 tbsp on pb and a huge glass of water. When I eat that and drink the water I imagine the bread (carbs) swelling from the water and making me full. It really does help. Then I play a game to keep me distracted for the remainder time.
Yeah, I hate it when that happens too. For supper, have some soup or vegetables with lean meat. Both are low cal count, and I find soup especially filling.
It's still possible to meet todays goals without starving, but if you go over, don't sweat too much over it. Just call it a maintenance day and get back to your regular schedule tomorrow!
See if any of this helps:
1. Make sure any additional calories you consume are high in protein and low in fat.
2. Drink diet beverages so you get some flavor without calories.
3. Try to get some exercise this evening.
4. Go to bed early.
5. Do not give yourself permission to indulge in poor food choices just because you think you screwed up today. You didn't. This kind of thing happens when your body is adjusting to change.

I love all your suggestions - but when I typed this I was just getting TO work! I am working 2pm-9pm tonight.... so luckily there isn't muuuuch food laying around. I had some popcorn and a small falafel salad which has brought me up just over 1400. Its now 8pm and I'm only going to have water for the rest of the night.

yea today im at 1100 already and its almost 4pm so im going to the gym to burn 400-500 cals so I can have my pork chops(1/4 inch thin bloneless lean) brown rice and green beans. which if it works out I should be at my recommended calorie range.
It's funny - 950-1100 is my goal to hit by 2pm. I pretty much split my cals up evenly - 500 for breakfast/snack, 500 for lunch, 500 for dinner, so 1000 cal by 2pm is so normal for me :P I'm guessing you have a lower calorie goal for the day than I do.
I'm trying to stick to a 1200-1450 diet for the day - I hadn't had my mid day snack or dinner yet. So it actually turned out ok but I had to have 2 smaller things.
Glad to see you made out okay. I'm just starting to try and stick to a 1500 a day calorie diet. I usually try to drink a looooooooooot of water to fill me up as I eat smaller meals, and I nosh on fruit and almonds as snacks, but that was before I was calorie counting. I hope I can make it happen.
I was up over 1400 yesterday after lunch...so I know how ya feel. I snackded a little bit during the day and by the time it was dinner time I was over 2100...so anything I could have had for dinner would have put me over my daily allowance...so I just skipped dinner and went to bed.
