Dannon Activia Yogurt?
Has anybody had any experience with this? I bought it from the store by accident, but I am not sure if I want to have it.
I am at work and yogurt is my usual breakfast but I have read in some places that people got stomach cramping or other unsavory side effects.
Can anybody let me know their experience?

I have heard good things but havent tried it myself!
It tastes great, I HATE yogurt, but tried this on a health kick...it's very sweet and creamy! Also, after about a week or so it seems to regulate "potty time"
I've eaten many, many cartons of the new Dannon Activia, with NO adverse side effects. I think the stuff is great, especially in the new Light version. I haven't noticed any difference in its supposed "regularity" effects, but that's not a problem I had in the first place. I just figured that the pro-biotics had to be good for me in general. It's great stuff! Eat up!
I've been eating it daily for over a month now. It helps with my constipation problem, it tastes wonderful and low in calories (Light)
You'll love it!

Personally I eat Light 'n' Fit yogurt, but my husband eats Activia and loves it! It's kind of a compromise because really he wants the high fat yogurt, and I want him to eat a healthier version. So Activia is creamy enough for him and healthy enough for me to be a good compromise. Also, he really loves the prune flavor (I know he's weird, but he's British so I cut him some slack) and it's the only brand that we can find with prunes. He has never reported any adverse affects at all.
I can't remember clearly, but I think I remembered reading in consumer
reports about it.. they said the ingredient in it that is supposed to
keep you regular does normally do that, but there's not really enough
in the yogurt to make a difference.. or maybe just a minor one.
So they said it's more just a gimmick than anything..
I don't think it could harm you to try it.
It is full of "good" bacteria which can be especially helpful if you have recently been on anti-biotics. (which kill the good and the bad which can cause digestive problems)
I'm not partial to the taste of it...but my daughter loves it. The dannon activia is a little pricy compared to the kids yogurts but I have bought it before for my daughter.

it has too much sugar for me. I am watching my sugar levels because of diabetes, and the regular activa is practically as sweet as candy! ugh!
I eat it most days too, and did the 14 day challenge it made me errr....go....err.....regular like LOL
and it tastes great!!!

its lovely =)
I love it. Kinda high cal for yogourt, but well worth it. Alot of yogourts make me feel sick/crampy. But Activia doesn't and sooo creamy delicious.
this is the only yogurt I eat and have never had a problem I love it
This stuff is great! I was taking antibiotics for an ear infection and the Dannon Activia kept me from getting a yeast infection (which most women get when taking antibiotics). Antibiotics kill all bacteria, including the ones you need in your colon to break down food. It replenishes the good bacteria so the antibiotics can kill the ones creating the infection. I also heard that replenishing the "good bacteria" helps Crone's Disease.
I tried Dannon Activia on advice from my sister who was a true believer in Activia and I tossed and turned all night long. When I told her how my night went, she said she has been tossing and turning every since she started taking Activia. I don't know if this is a side effect, but I am not going to find out. I stopped eating the yogurt.
I really like Dannon Activia!
Here's a funny story ~ My son came home from school one day a few years back (so he was about 14 at the time) and wanted a snack so he got the "yogurt" I just bought from the fridge and proceeded to chow down big time! He ate like 3 of them without me knowing. He's one of those kids that can eat anything and never gain on ounce! Anyway, about an hour later he came into the living room where I was holding his tummy saying "Mom, does that yogurt tear you up?" Oh my gosh I laughed SO hard! I told him that's what he gets for being a glutten! LOL
Just thought I'd share..... :)

I was just wondering if anyone who has IBS has tried Dannon Activia? I take other IBS medicine but it doesn't really seem to do much. I don't want to start taking something that's going to screw up my intestinal system.
My sister has Chron's, and she loves Activia. She tries to get me to eat it, as I have some unknown form of an IBS (but not Chron's - I've been tested). I don't like the taste of yogurt, and she says that its great for someone with a limited diet.
If you are very concerned about whether or not this will make you feel sick, I would ask your doctor if it sounds right for you :)
I haven't had too many in-depth comversations with her about it, but I hope that helps!

mscents - SAME exact thing with my little brother!! He's 13, skinny as a stick, eats and eats and never gains and ounce...and one day he had like 3 or 4 and later on he ran to the restroom lol.
I think it tastes fake & overly sweet. I prefer organic yogurts with real fruit mixed in. I find that any yogurt with a good level of active cultures helps my IBS.
My husband and I both used this for two weeks, worked great. But we both stopped eating it and within days we each started having stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, and sharp pains in our chests. This is the only food my husband and I both ate so I know this was a side affect. Has any one else had this happen?
