Dannon or Yoplait?
I'm not a big milk drinker so I try to get my calcium in other ways. I recently switched from Yoplait to Dannon brand of yogurt. I love my yogurt at all times of the day! I found that the Dannon Light & Fit has got half the calories and sugar of the Yoplait sizes. It's also a lot smaller so that probably has something to do with it. But nonetheless, it's so tasty good. Anyone else got a fav brand?
Light and Fits are the same size as Yoplait. they are both 6 oz.
It must be the packaging that makes them look smaller. They taste better anyways :)
The Fiber One yogurt coppertop mentioned is good (I like the key lime pie), but overall I prefer Fage 0% over Dannan and Yoplait anyday. You can control the flavor and sugar content any way you like, it's very versatile, and it can even double as sour cream on burritos, spreads, dips, and salads.
Hah sorry about that. I'm not fond of light n' fit because its sooo artifical tasting and water-y texture. My favorite is probably Stoneyfield yogurt--higher cal (120 cal per container) but its really thick and creamy. I also enjoy archer farms (target's brand) for its thickness and unique flavors (yum, honey almond & blueberry pomegranite!) and its only 90 cal per container. Personally I'd rather enjoy a nice creamy yogurt with extra calories than something that is runny and chemical tasting.
Greek yogurt is really good too... expensive though. But it has about twice the protein and has a REALLY thick texture. Fage 0% greek yogurt is 80 calories per container. Its sour though--so if you like sweet yogurt then I would not reommend it.
I've tried many different brands, but nothing beats Yoplait in my eyes. I recently tried Darigold (regional brand) because it's all-natural. Bleck. It's the consistency of hot cheese sauce. And not too tasty. I guess I'll keep ingesting the artificial stuff till I find something better.
I have completely switched to nonfat plain Greek yoghurt (120 calories for 8 oz) and lowfat plain kefir (110 calories for 8 oz). I sweeten/flavor them myself.
I eat a lot of yoghurt these days as my cheese is high in fat and I'm lactose intolerant. It's also a great way to sneak in my fruit.

I just ate lunch and saw that my Dannon Light n Fit was only 4 oz. From checking out their website, I saw they do make a 6 oz too. I've been eating the Light n Fit 0% Plus, I didn't clarify before.
I haven't seen the Yoplait Yo-Plus before! I will have to look for it :)

They are hard to find, though. Non-fat with 110 calories per cup. And their taste and texture beats anything else I have found. It's almost too good to be true. Very well-balanced.
If I can't get theirs, then I buy Trader Joe's thick, unsweetened Greek yogurt and add pure maple syrup to it.
I used to eat Stonyfield all of the time but am too hooked on Cascade now. Everything else seems oversweetened by comparison. But Stonyfield is a good runner-up, though watch out for their sugar content in some flavors.
Rachel's makes some incredible flavors I have never before found in yogurt, but they are quite indulgent and work better as a dessert substitute than a snack.
My problem is that most of the diet yogurts use splenda... I can't stand Splenda.
Instead, I get the plain fat-free yoplait and sweeten it myself with Equal (my artificial sweetener of choice) and flavor it with extracts or baking cocoa. The extra small disposable ziploc bowls are just the right size, too.
can you get fage yogurt at walmart??
i am a fan of dannon's activia light yogurt. no fat and has a good amount of fiber (5 g) and is good for digestion

It may depend on your location and just whether or not your store(s) order/stock it. Mine do not. They have just started carrying organic Oikos Greek yogurt (made by Stonyfield), and that's what I've started buying, for the reasons already stated: 0% fat, super high protein, super thick/creamy, great double for sour cream, and you can make your own incredibly creamy/tasty FF cream cheese by straining it down further (simple process to do).
I also don't like the Light&Fit because of the AS. I don't like most Yoplait because of the HCFS. I do also LOVE the Yo-Plus, particularly the vanilla. The Activia is also really good, but I don't like any other Dannon yogurt. They all seem gritty and thin to me.
I've really stopped buying yogurt cups and just buy tubs. I can do so many different things with just 1 tub of plain lowfat organic yogurt, flavor it up any way, add my own raw sugar or honey to taste, no questionable ingredients, and it costs so much less.

But Yoplait also makes Source, which has 35 calories/ 100g serving (that I'm pretty sure is a bit less than whatever Light & Fit has)
OMG have you tried Source DESSERTS????
DELICIOUS and still only 35 calories!!!! Goes GREAT with coffee for dessert!!!
~H~
From what I researched, it looks like Source is only available in Canada. I googled "yoplait source" and it took me to yoplait.ca. It sounds quite tasty though :)
Also what's the difference b/t reg yogurt and Greek yogurt? Does it come in flavors too? I can't stand plain vanilla yogurt.
I checked out the Cascade website. They sell it around here! I will have to check some of the stores it listed as retailers for it.
dannon and yoplait are the same size. i eat dannon every day; when it's 60 calories vs. 100, there's no contest.
Which ever is on sale. Today it's Lucerne. I know, not much help, but I have to count those pennies as well as calories![]()
