Darn You Girls Scout Cookies!!!

Quote  |  Reply

So I ate about 550 calories of trefoils today.

*sigh*

Luckily this only put me a few hundred calories above my burned calories for the day, but still.  I also had to study all day, so I hardly got off my butt.

They're just so delicious!!!!!!!!

I was doing so good too. I was only going to buy one box this year, and I was only eating a couple each day. I don't know what happened exactly. lol I just wanted them. And it was kind of worth it... Laughing but I would have rather not have eaten so many.

I still have a bunch left, so I'll just have to try harder...

Good luck to all of you trying to resist the evil that is girl scout cookies!

I found an easy way to resist Girl Scout cookies.  I just don't buy them.  I still support them buy paying for a couple of boxes, then I tell them to keep the cookies.

I bought two boxes this year instead of 5 or 6!  I got the single packs that are worth 100 cals for whatever.. and then the chocolate peanut butter ones.. I ended up eating 1/3 box in one sitting.. grrr.. haha

I felt like I had to support the GS so I bought two boxes. Opened them at work and let everyone else eat them. I could easily eat the whole box so I didn't even want to bring them home!! They are evil!!

Thin Mints....drooooooool.  Thank goodness I'm nowhere near a Girl Scout or their evil cookies.

i gave them to my FH to take to work

I appreciate everyones support!! As a Girl Scout Leader I know how important it is to have a good sale.

However!!!I wish they all would just get the hell out of my sight... it is not the best time of the month for me, and I ate a box of Thin Mints, and a sleeve of trefoils on sunday alone.

I cannot control myself it is making me crazy!!! I cannot wait until it is all over. I just wish I wasn't the keeper of the extra cookies for the Troop to sell, it is like I have an unlimeted supply (not really @ 3.50 a box.. they are expensive)

Sorry for the rant!

Luckily I live in the UK and don't have this problem... something I'm quite happy about as I have the biggest sweet tooth.  People bringing cookies to my door sounds awesome, but isn't good for the figure.

mmmm. I love the peanut butter ones. I take 1 cookie and mash it in 1/2 a cup of double churn vanilla ice cream. Then trash the box, or give it to the boyfriend. Delicious cookies :) But like any cookie, the scale hates them, and it's hard for me to avoid eating an entire sleeve. Those were the days :)

Thank god I don't know any girl scouts! Ha Ha. Tongue out

I don't know any girl scouts either. They set up tables outside my grocery store!

my mom bought tonnnsss of those coconut ones and tagalongs. wow....those things are addictive. its soo hard to resist. me and my friend put down one box just the two of us sunday =/

my community is a little different, and I have to avoid any stores like the plague during girl scout season. they dont go door to door, their parents dont bring the cute sign up sheets to work, instead, they order mass loads of cookies for each troop (seems like a million of them) and they stand outside every store selling them. it's awful! I hate saying no to those cute little girls, and they're different little girls each time. I almost feel obligated to buy because I remember when I was a girl scout... I had my boyfriend do all the grocery shopping for about a month..

I ordered four boxes the day before I started all this.  Luckily I have done fairly well.  I eight the most the first day but compared to what I normally would have done it wasn't too bad.  Then I found a way to fight the Girl Scout Cookies.  Chocolate peppermint Luna Bar!  Way healthier but doesn't taste to radically different and still washes down great with a cup of skim milk.  I imagine if you like the tagalongs there is a peanut butter type Luna Bar that could help.

All that's left is the Lemon ones and the dosi dos which I can resist.  It's those darn thin mints and that get me.

Oh the sweetest little girl came to my door dressed in her uniform.  She even had her little brother with her to help her "sell" the cookies.  Of course Dad was there too.  So I did end up ordering two boxes.  UGH.  Fortunately they haven't been delivered yet.  I was hoping that cute little girl took my order and money and ended up eating the two boxes herself!

Last year I did awesome and didn't buy any from the grocery store or the sheets that the parents brought into work, but a girl came to my door and she was handicapped in a wheelchair with her mom and I bought 2 boxes.  There was no way I could turn her away.

So this year I bought 1 box off of a sheet here at work, put them out for everyone to eat and I'm not answering my door.

I've only had 2 servings since they've been sitting here and they are almost gone.  I am determined to resist the last of them.

I bought two boxes (to support the cause) and gave them to my mom...who doesn't have a weight issue and can control herself around cookies :)

If they are outside a lot of the stores you go to when they approach you just say "Oh thank you very much, but I'm sorry, I already bought some cookies from some other little girls in front of another store." Then wish them good luck with their sales and walk off. Yeah, I'm a little devious. Lmao. I know it's hard to resist.

Honestly, I don't have money so I could always say I would love to buy some, but I don't have any money right now. Ha..I've done that before with other things and at least I wasn't lying. :P

Or you could buy a box or two and give them as a gift to someone. :) You're helping their cause and giving to someone else! Two good things. :)

My niece is a girl scout, so the past few years, I've had a few boxes forced on me (and then a couple more by my hubby, who can't say no to his co-worker's kids).

This year, I seem to have escaped.  I did have 2 thin mints when I was at my mom's house (they were in the freezer already, how could I resist a frozen thin mint?!), but that's not much damage.

I'm better off if I just pretend they don't exist.  When they approach me at the store, I always just say "sorry, I already bought them from my niece"  (regardless if it is true or not).

OMG I have a samoa addiction...

I was a Girl Scout for a long time... Like 12 years... (yep)... I love the cookies. To this day I'm convinced there's crack in them. If they came out and said there was crack in them, would you be amazed? No you would not because everyone loves them and they are delicious.

I buy them, I eat them... I just budget for them.

Budget for your crack... like an addict... budget for them.
