i put on 4pounds in 2 days :( ?!!
hey guys. this is the first time im rly posting here , although ive been reading posts here for a month. its a very nice community :). This is my 5th week dieting and ive lost about 6kg / around 13 pounds. i also do strenght training aswell as cardio 5 times a week so hopefully ive managed to put on some muscle too. anyways everything was fine until days ago when suddenly i put on a whole kilo... and today its the same thing!! so ive just put on 2 kilo's in 2 days !... i actually fell off the wagon abit 2 days ago, and well yesterday i wasnt panicking , figuring its water weight and what not but now another kilo is killing me :(... im probably being stupid but i cant help help panicking about this. where did these 2 kilos come from ? i drank alot of water yesterday hoping to get the water out but atm im just at a loss of what to do :(... ofc i ate alot 2 days ago but not that much, at least i thought so.
this weight thing is so horrible some times, u think yourself to be a rational person and then something like this happens and it just makes u feel so bad!!!
anyways , any tips as to what this could be or what i should would be much appreciated :).
P.S; my period should be coming sometime this week, but still a couple of days so i rly dont know if that might be the cause, the last time i had it i didnt put on much weight at all.
I'd strongly recommend staying off the scales for a week. Daily ups and downs can be incredibly misleading and dispiriting. You get a bad number on the scale and it's so tempting to either a) find solace in a box of chocolates or b) eat very little to try to rectify it.
If you've worked out a sensible calorie intake based on your weight, height, age and activity level using the CC tools and you've been sticking to it reasonably well then there's no real reason to gain weight. If you had a bad day or two recently you could easily gain 2kgs of fluids. Keep your food diary really accurately (weighing and measuring etc.), choose good quality wholefoods, drink plenty of fluids and keep exercising. I'm sure things will right themselves.
But do stay off the scales...
Give it a couple of days, continue on your plan and there is almost a guarantee it goes away!

This is exactly what the issue is. Women will typically hold on to anything from 1 to 5 pounds of water weight immediately before their period (no matter how much water you drink to try and flush it out; our bodies just want it). Since it's bothering you, give yourself a break from the scales the week before your period (and the first day or two of it). As it finishes, your body will let go of the water weight and you'll drop back down to your real weight.
The reason you didn't notice last time may have been that you were losing fat while gaining water, so it looked like your weight stayed the same. Did you notice a faster than normal drop in the days after your period?
My weight goes up and down more times than the stock market during the week - but seems to calm down on a weekly basis. ![]()
Although this week I did put on 0.25lbs! lol. I'll work that off later!

ROFLMAO. If only it would drop as fast as the market has in the last month or so! :)
to me this looks like exactly what happend to me whenever I got my period.
I gained like nearly 2 kilos just like you did, and I grew desperate! lol but a few days went by, I had my period and magicly the 2 kilos disappeared :) so wait it out! I bet you'll see them flushing out for sure.
If not then go over your intake, and make sure you're eating plenty for your activity level, because undereating can lead to gainign weight but it can be easily fixed with eating more!
take care
It's probably beacuse of your period starting soon. Another thing could be too much sodium. A 2 kg gain in 2 days doesn't happen because of something like ~500 extra cals :)
Yeh - I could REALLY do with a "market crash" lol. Oh well - slowly but surely!
