How Many Days Does it Take to Loose Weight?

Quote  |  Reply

Hey, I was curious as to how many days it should take before I see a notice in weight being lost. I am 244 lb 6'2'' man eating 1800 calories a day with 30 min cardio. Shouldn't I see a noticeable impact here of losing even .5 lbs off myself after doing this for 3 days?!?!?!

uhm, it is possible i guess but i would say most likely not. from my personal experience, sometimes it can take a month & then all of a sudden, im an inch or half an inch smaller but at the same weight, then the next week, im down 4lbs.  3 days is nothing, and .5lbs could be anything. it all depends on how your individual body responds to the exercises but most importantly to the food you are fueling it with.  and some people it takes a long long while to actually see the results.

You don't need pills to lose weight.

When I was at 250 lbs, I started my new lifestyle and I wasnt allowed to weigh myself for the first 3 weeks.  At the 3 week weigh in, I lost 14 lbs.  At the 6 week weigh in I lost 25 lbs.

Everyone is different and it depends on how much of a calorie deficit you have.

PS i don't think you are eating enough btw :)

.5 pounds is not noticeable, trust me. It took me 37 pounds before anybody ever noticed I lost any weight. I'm not trying to get your hopes up or anything, but everyone is different aswell. Some people can lose 5-10 pounds and people will notice, but it took me nearly 40. But you will not notice .5 pounds, believe this. .5 pounds is nothing really.

oh good, someone took that 'ad/post' about diet pills. if you really want to see results keep watching your diet (& yeah, doesn't sound like you are eating enough) and exercising, maybe throw in a little weight training. dont get discouraged if you dont see results right away. actually dont focus on results right away, just how to make yourself feel more healthy.

Haley, your transformation is amazing...an inspiration!  Any words of wisdom?

It took me a month to notice anything but with each person it varies just keep fighting for your dream. I wish you well on your journey.

Most people don't notice with that little of weight.  I didn't notice myself until I lost almost 10 pounds, you see yourself everyday so you don't notice as much as others do.  One of my friends told me she could tell I lost weight just after 4 pounds, and she didn't know that I was trying to loss weight.  However, like one of the other replies said, you might also be eating too little.  You should ideally only eat 500-1000 calories less a day than you burn.

And be sure that you are providing yourself with enough water for your body to release the water it likes to hold on to.  Especially for working out.
