Union Station at the information station

Okay, since HK mentioned not having met any CCers from DC, and since I'm a take-charge kind of gal, I herein float this idea for those in or near the DC area: a get-together. I propose meeting in or near DC on Saturday, July 30. I'll propose a leisurely bikeride as the activity just to get the discussion started, but I'm certainly not tied to that idea.

Any takers?

I think most folks on the east coast are fast asleep. But I suggest bumping this message in the morning. I think it sounds like a great idea.
Road trip weekend for me; back on Monday. If others have other ideas, would love to read them!
Sorry, but a bike ride in the DC heat the end of July??? ...  You must be crazy!  Not that I can ride a bike anyway.

How about someplace with AC in DC?

I could come down on the train from Philadelphia.
Yeh I second clairelaine's idea. way to hot for a bike ride...

some nice to hang out prehaps...

hmm how far is DC from NY? *gone to look*
DC's about a 6 hour drive from NYC, Rahana.. so.. if you wanted to take down a train, someone could meet you at Union Station :)

OR.. since you're in NYC, look into Jet Blue :)

As far as a Bike Ride, well.. both my tires are flat...

But meeting someplace would be great by me. We could always play toursit :) I love playing tourist :)
haha....playing tourist..... :)

6 hrs isnt so bad....I can I would rather take the drive. It would be scenic and new for me.

I would be able to come but why not wait a little longer. Jule seems not so far away and other's might have plans already..
I would guess it's because I think athena was thinking a little more locally. Silly athena...

If we're gonna make it the East Coast meetup, August is a hard month for me (the weekend of August 12 and AUgust 19 are already booked) but September and October are both reasonable.. AND, generally, cooler. :)
oh....so then we're not invited if we live to far away? :P

Yeh I think September and Ocotber would be much better for me. By then if I DO decide to take a train or plane, it would be cheaper also and not only for me but other's as well...
God bless all of you :) The idea of having an east coast get-together is rather exciting ;)

Yeah, September and October would both be better, pricewise, for trains and plains, and possibly automobiles, once Labor Day passes...
*bumps up* :)

East Coaster out there..

We're gonna meet up.....

*light pops on in head*

Since those West Coasters are going for Las Vegas, why dont we East Coasters go to Atlantic City, NJ?

Just a thought
Well... here's a thought. Why don't we find out who is interested in meeting up for an East Conference smaller conference... and then try to pick a location that's pretty central to all of us...

If it was just us NorthEasterners, I'd suggest Pittsburgh or Philadelphia.

If we get people from Flordia involved or something, DC or Roanoke might be decent choices :)

So... who's interested in a smaller UNOFFICIAL C-C Conference on the East Coast? :)
ok whatever is fine with me...I've never been to Pittsburgh or Philly so that might be nice..
OK...I'm all for Pittsburgh...It's sooooo very close to me.  Let me know when and I'll check my schedule.
What about something like DC or Philadelphia, neeners? Those close enough you'd consider going? :)
No offense to the Philly people...but I don't like it there.  That doesn't mean I wouldn't attend.  I don't care to drive through DC either, but I still would go.  Pittsburgh is about an hour away...so, of course, I'd love to go!

So, I'd consider DC, Philly or Pittsburgh.
Oh yeah, driving in DC is the pits. That's why I take the Metro when I can :)
DC is a four hour drive from NYC, and three hours+a few minutes by train.

NOW I'm heading out! :-D
Ok I am in. 4 hours isnt bad to drive AT ALL

DC here I come. :)
bump
bump

Can we all wear our C-C t-shirts so we know who everyone is? :)

and what's even funnier is that it will be funny calling people by their real name. WE're going to have to do introductions through username

hehehehe

*oh hey HK, meet  athena. athena meet neeners*
