DC Get-Together August 25-26

I'd like to announce the next Washington DC Official Get-Together. Our Canadian friend Glinda will be flying down from Canadia to come visit us and we figured it was as good a time as any to get as many DC area C-C'ers together.

ugh... didn't make it... and it sucks.  my husband and i had a fight about whether i was 'allowed' to bring the baby.  in a sense i see it his way, but in a sense ive already met everyone and i think its ridiculous that he doesn't trust me with her!

It was fun! I was late getting there, and was quite surprised to see folks still there, truth be told; with Nomo and HK in the same room for any period of time, I was half-expecting I'd find the place closed for repairs!

But this get-together was much more.... well, less... ah, raucous, let's say (somewhat, anyway!), than the other one I attended. I credit Igor and Erik for their civilizing influence; I think this is one restaurant that might actually let certain CCers return, unlike a few others.

Lots of laughter, a naked story or two, fun with towels (this is unrelated to the naked stories), and a tapdance by the talented Pampered Keri! In public, outside the restaurant, even! Pictures were taken, and dnrothx, here's your reminder to post your rates for suppressing the evidence.

It was lovely to meet those I hadn't met before, and to see again those I had. It was clear plenty went on before I got there, given the evidence, but what exactly it was, I could not say. Everyone smiled like the Cheshire Cat when I asked (and then looked sideways at Clairelaine, who was smiling the biggest smile of all!), but no one would divulge what had gone on before. Hats were involved in some way, though, and squirt guns, but what these items had to do with the results I saw, I couldn't say. (That's the price I pay for showing up late!)

Erik and Igor brought everyone presents, too, the sweeties! (Thanks, guys!)

I had a great time!

I just got back, and I had a BLAST!!!!  Phewwwweeee, is it hot out there!!!  First thing I did when I got home was drink a litre of cold water!  I think I was starting to get a little dehydrated.  Not fun.  I actually stopped at the grocery store on my way home to pick up some diet caffeine-free sodas, and believe it or not, asked the cashier to put one in one bag and one in another bag.  The thought of carrying two soda bottles in one hand was not appealing AT ALL.  By the time I got home, I was feeling a little dizzy, and grabbed the water straight away.

It was so great to see everyone.  I'm so glad that I got to go.  I'm also glad that we went to the Air & Space museum after lunch.  That was a hoot, wax people or no.  lol  Had to throw that in for Kimne's sake.  lol 

I hope to get copies of some of the pics that were taken.  If you got pics, please message me, and I will give you my e-mail addy so that you can please please pretty please e-mail me the pics.  :)

And, hey, you wouldn't believe the pistons on those engines, eh Ben?  lol  ;)

Yesterday was great!  Am bummed I had to bail out before the Air & Space museum due to car issues at home, but that's how life goes sometimes.

*refuses to tell what went on before Athena got there*

We were all sworn to secrecy! LOL

Erik and Igor, thanks again for lunch and for the goodie bags.  I'm putting that pedometer to good use later today!

*palm still hurts from the blood oath to never tell Those Who Came After what went beforehand*  (whoever came up with the idea of a blood oath should be punished accordingly)

Although I could only stick around for a couple of hours, it was great meeting everyone there (except Claire, goshdarnit.  I even tried moving around the table and still managed to miss her! :( )

My rates for suppressing the evidence are more along the lines of a "service barter" rather than cash payment... :>

I figured you'd all like to know that Homeland Security never DID catch up to me. I was sure they'd corner me at the airport, but I must have given them the slip.

That said, that didn't stop Mother Nature from trying (and failing) to get me too, throwing lightning boats at me and the plane. Hahahah! Nature sucks and I made it ALIVE!

I had a blast all weekend with Ben!  Ladies be jealous! 

It was nice to see those that I had meet before and great to meet new people.

Thanks to Erick and Igor for lunch!  It was great gettign to meet them and everyone else!  I'm going to update my journal at some point tonite with my adventures in DC.
