I'd like to announce the next Washington DC Official Get-Together. Our Canadian friend Glinda will be flying down from Canadia to come visit us and we figured it was as good a time as any to get as many DC area C-C'ers together.

With my senior citizen discount the rooms that weekend are $81.00, 89.00 without the discount.

It's across the street from the Rosslyn Metro stop.

I'd really like to stay where other CCers are staying.

Can we plan on something a little more interesting than Ruby Tuesdays?  I vote for Chinese or Indian, but I know not everyone likes it.

How about a picnic on the Mall instead, if the weather is good? That way, people can bring what they'd like, whether purchased or homemade.

A picnic sounds wonderful, but what's the likelihood of weather in August that's not hot and humid? 

clairelaine - whatcha got against ruby tuesdays?  i'm joking.  i swear, they don't have a single vegetarian item on the menu.  There's an awesome indian resturaunt in DC (Indique in the Cleveland Park neighborhood and Indique Heights in the Friendship Heights neighborhood - both are off the metro).

And instead of the picnic on the mall, try one in Rock Creek Park - that way you'll get shade!  Although, you won't have the free museums with the clean bathrooms right around the corner.

This sounds like fun. I'm in Baltimore. Count me in.

How does the Hotel Harrington sound?  It's centrally located and they have small singles for $89.  I haven't asked about my senior discount yet.

I'm thinking seriously of coming in Friday night and staying until Monday morning.  I'd like to go to the Freer gallery and a couple of other art museums, when I'm not meeting you friends. 

I pass the Hotel Harrington everyday.  Twice a day. 

Has anyone talked to CeCe and Shannon about this?

Shannon knows and will be in Germany. Cece.. not that I know of yet. Anyone have her actual email address?
