I just take the Alli once in a while myself. When I know I'm gonna be eating a regular meal with the family. It keeps me to limiting my portions. It does help. This weight thing is a full time job! LOL I've started eating veggies at night again. That's what I did when I first started losing weight. I have made myself go back and remember how I started this to begin with. Somehow I got off track. Too many suggestions, I think. I'm just sticking to what I know. Ya know? Heck, I lost so much weight on my own before even coming here. So, here I go again......back to my own plan! hehe
Oh yeah, I will get to my goal! It might take til I'm 60, but I'll get there! LOL No, I'll get there before then. :) We just have to stop trying so hard, ya know. Let it happen. ;)
Yeah, sometimes I have to cut back because I just don't want nothing to happen while I am out and about you know, and I really watch what I eat when I am on the go, but sometimes I can't always watch it you know. We live in a busy and fast world. SO my main meal comes at night. That's when I do take it. I don't eat heavy during breakfast or lunch to take it. I try to stay focus on a light well balance diet during the day, and I do know when night time hits.. Every craving is against me you know. Fighting me as I fight them back. It's hard and the alli helps with a little of that.. I have to work over time at work, and with my life stle change, and I'm like you. Everything that I was doing worked for me. I lost over 86 before I gained a whole lot of it back. Losing some of it. Topping at 167 a few months back wasn't cool either, and then getting back down to 151 wasn't a joy either, but its still a fight. People think alli is a easy fix, and want to point freaking fingers sometimes.. Well, I like to say. I'm being truthfull with what I am doing, and I do believe alot of people here are truthful, i just want this weight loss battle to end, but the only way that's going to work unless I go back to doing what I did at first, and that was a 1200 calories diet, and then into a 1400 calorie diet once I stop losing weight at 1200, and then 80-90 grams of protein. I think I did a good job of losing weight. Back then I did anyway, and I have to get back on board with losing weight. Cardio and weight training, and beating myself up 6 days a week. I came here and was told. I needed to take a break,and this and that. I got to lax you know. Well, I'm off to bed..

I've been lurking around but i'm busy wt work and yesterday i sort of avoided anything related to the computer.
I was "bad" these days...went out and played darts & billiards but also ended up eating out which meant i didn't have that many choices. Still, as usual, i choose the "less bad" out of all so had a chicken salad on Sat evening (but it was salty and wt "crispy chicken") and got pizza hawaii (eggs, pineapple, lean turkey ham) yesterday (ate it at abt 6 pm and didn't have anything else all evening).
Still, i'm bloated so i'm avoiding the scale for a while LOL
Well, I would like to say.. That group of foods is unlike you, but we all have to lossen up and enjoy something I feel. I've been breaking down my closet yet again, and getting it in order once again with all of my junk and stuff. I'm not making room for anyone else.. Unless I get married married first, and cut the 7 years of crap..

This is how I lost weight the last time. I just ate, but I made sure I stuck in a calorie range.. Not saying meal time this or that. Just grabbin something close to healthy and eatin it. SO that's what's been on the menu for today. Grab, eat, and enjoy what you get. So far it's working for me.
I try to give myself a range of healthy items to eat, and I eat them. Later on tonight. I don't know what it's going to be.. But I'm sure I will have something good. My new trainer I signed up with for 12 weeks of hell says... I should have a glass of milk, and since I hate.. Hate.. Hate... White milk.. I did love it in the day, but now.. I need that chocolate milk. I've notice.. Having a glass helps me fight the sugar blues.. LOL

I've been doing well with my eating. Even though tonight I ate some Reese's Ice Cream. But I felt so guilty I went outside alittle after 9pm and walked it off! I walked for an hour and burned 500 calories. So now I feel so much better. I just hope the scale cooperates in the morning. LOL
Lynn, I do that too.....eat when I feel like it and what I want. It feels good to do that. Being "normal" is nice.
I'm not gonna worry about just how healthy something is. I'm watching my portion sizes and keeping my calories in my range. So far it's working. We'll see!
There's a freaking wasp in here and I can't find it! I saw it on my curtain and I went and got the spray to kill it and when I came back it disappeared on me! That thing was big and I don't want stung! I thought it'd end up in my window, but no luck. Sheesh! I hate those things!!!

our friends wanted to go to a Turkish shaorma place and the only thing remotely healthy there was the salad. But they don't do grilled chicken so I had no choice but to eat the "crispy" one.
As for the pizza, oh I DO eat pizza. But the "Hawaii" thing is something I eat maybe once every 4 months.
It's unusual to eat out 2 days in a row LOL
Yesterday we played tennis for 1.5 h and burned 545 cal.

Hey girls, well I didn't run from the scale. TTOM is here, and I got on anway to check things out, and to see what it do.. Well, I got 155.4, and I'm okay with that.. Alli is only going to do it's part when it's used,and if I'm not using it as I should, then nothing good is goin to come out of any use.
I met a girl who uses Alli on another sight. You know the sight Cricket, and she told me.. Her doctor has her using it as well, so i'm sure it's not that bad, but she did note. I must take it with my meal.. Not after my meal, but with the meal. So, I'm sure I can do it. I just don't do it as often as I should.
Well, after going to the first doctor appointment today. My friend got on my case about having alli, and not using it. I just don't have time to take it like that, and if I know I'm not racking up in the calories.. Why should I take it. SO I gave her some from mines to give it a trail run, and to see how she feels about it. Why not.. I have nothing to lose by giving them away to a friend. She might gain something from it. I just take them when I need them the most, and as of now.. I don't need them as much. I feel if I'm eating like a rabbit. I should not be taking the alli, and I should only use it on those days I need to control those extra fats I eat, and so far.. It's a nothing.
I'm just going to handle it in time. It's going to happen, I just got to rap my head around it.. In time I will...

I'm SO proud of you for giving those pills to your friend. I bet you can lose the weight wt/out them! :)
I'm playing devil's advocate again. IF Alli works ONLY when you use it, doesn't it mean you'll HAVE to take it for the rest of your life? Will the weight loss be sustainable once you'll (eventually) stop taking it all together?
That's why I don't trust ANY supplements or adds. Not to mention they often say "works with a 1200 cal diet". Well, DUH! Eating 1200 cal will result in losing weight ANYWAY. And in most cases in starvation mode as well....
Don't you think I wish I could just pop a pill and get to 120 lbs? of course I do . but i care way more abt my body, health and SUSTAINABILITY of the loss. ...and yeah MY HARD EARNED MONEY.
We played tennis on Sun. I was almost shocked by how much it cost to rent the court (abt $10/hour!). We've got the gear though. I badly need to find another health club b/c this one is getting WAY too expensive.
Last evening we played some darts and went for a long walk...all in all abt 380 cal burned.
As for the eating, I'm eating too much. At least I'm not eating crap, but still. I hope to get my eating back to normal 1300-1400 cal today.
I'm stressed abt something at work so I won't be able to eat much today anyway. That's how I react to stress...
Cricket, what I started to notice on my on is .. How often I do use the drug. I only use it during a heavy meal, and I haven't been eating so heavy as the usual. My problem is carbs and sugar, and I eat too much of it as it is. My problem has never been my fats, and it only runs the fats and oils out of my body. I had ate pizza and taken it before, and no nothing. No effects. I eat some fried chicken, and a salad. I get the effects. So this is what think. I think I should just go on and eat the right way for me, and learn how to lose this weight without the alli. Because this is how I feel. I didn't use it when I heard of it in 2008, and I didn't use it when my doctor ordered me to take it in 2007, and it was something else.. Not alli, and much stronger than alli. I got it, and gave it to my friend DD, and what happen to her was rapid weight loss, but she was 300 pounds over weight. So I can see where it's good for her. I'm just 155, and I can mustar up the guts and the miles on my feet to do this again.
SO I feel. Alli just isn't the program for me to grab hold too, because I asked the same questions you just asked about the drugs. Do I have to use it to maintain the loss. Do this have to be a life time of running to the bath room, and the oopsies and stuff? I asked myself all of that, and that's something I really don't want. But I did keep 30 pills for myself to use on those days I do eat heavy. I can use it as a part time aid. But not a 3 times a day tool. I will not get another bottle of alli after this. I signed on for a new trainer, and she is very smart in what she is doing, and she is working my body in a much different way. She told me this morning. They say.. Don't spot train. She said.. Add cardio, and target one area you want to work on in muit joint movements.
So we target the lower half of my body. Tossing in some upper from time to time, but working on the lower half. The bulk of my weight is in my hips, and she was working on that area the most. Weight training the whole body is the key in sessions she said, and I can stick with this program and it's working for me. I think this is the key to my weight loss again.
She made me do run burst for 20 mins.. 2 to 3 mins of full running at a time. A 90sec. Rest, and we do it again. She's doing it with me. That's the cool thing about it. So, I'm sure I can go without alli, and do her program.

I also do cardio and lower body -- my thighs still need some work. Upper body is small so don't need to shrink it LOL
I've stayed at 1350 cal today. Happy me. Had some salads I made at home and feel great.

Thank you, Cricket. I feel the new friend I have in my life has pointed out some things to me, and for me to understand. She said to me.. We only make our weight loss work for us, when we are stayin on track, and not stepping off the track to do something that isn't proven fact. She said to me. You have to look at the long term effects of these drugs, and she is so right. We do have to look at those things. She wants me to do this on my own. There is nothing wrong with alli for the people who needs to use this product, and I'm not heavy enough for this product. She said. She can make me look good at 155 pounds, and all we have to do is focus more on the toning, and I am really ready for that change. I'm just going to take this a step at a time, and a day at a time, and hopefully. Everyone will see my change in months to come.. I'm posting a new full pic of myself, and my weight will be added to the caption.. The goal is to lose 10 pounds, and I will do it. It's all about getting on board with myself, and taking me back from my brinks of failure. Once again. I hope you join me.. I need a partner to do this with me, and you woke me up in more ways than one.. You have been supportive, and I question my use of this drug more than once.. I'm not using it enough to even own a bottle of the stuff. But like I said before.. I may use it on my heavy meals, just to cut down some of the fats.. It's not going to be a daily tool... I don't eat enough fats to use this product on a day to day bases..

I'm with you Lynn. I had to really find things to eat to get all the fat grams I needed to use the Alli. I haven't taken it in a while now. But I will take it when I go out to eat or for cookouts and things like that.
So far I've lost 4 of the 18 lbs I gained back. So I am on my way back down the scale again. I'll be so happy to see 170 again and then to get to 160 lbs.

Tammy, Yeah! I'm up late. Just got back in from the gym with my girl friends. We love the 24 hours fitness center. We meet up 2 or 3 days a week, and support each other. Some of us are there for health issues, and some of us are there for weight loss, weight training, and toning.
So tonight. We did the mid night spinning class, and it was great. ALL cardio, and I know I can lose the rest of this weight by working out after that last meal. Just to beat some of those calories off is a good thing. I burned 640 calories, and I felt good about it. That was my meal, and some extra calories I had during the day. I just need to gain control on the sugar. She has me doing a sweet tooth journal, and why I eat the sweets the junk food carbs, like chips and cookies. She wants to get down to be underline reason of why I eat those things. She made a suggestion to me tonight. And I am willing to give it a try.
We can do this.. We just have to get back to the roads we know and beat down those paths. Well, I'm off to bed once again at 3am. And back up againg to hit it again. This is what we have to do. Find the time to put in the work, and keep it up.. I'm doing a veggie week starting next week. It's going to be hard, but the trainer thinks.. If I eat mostly veggies, and just fish... I can lose 2 pounds or a pound per week. We will see want we.. I'm ready to put this all behind me. I really am..

I really wanted to ask you abt that, but answered yourself. You are not supposed to take Alli unless you are obese or very overweight, which you are not.
And that's why I don't / shouldn't even look for quick gimmicks. Thankfully I am within the healthy range and i'm only battling vanity lbs and fat deposits.
I really prefer tennis for cardio. Although on Sun I managed to get an ugly blister on my right palm and it only went away yesterday. UGH.
I did stay at 1350 cal yesterday so i'm super happy. That's where I should be now 1300-1400 cal if i don't work out and a little more when I am active. my work is just hectic but i need to find time to go and pay some bills (so that includes a bit of walking HeHe).
i'm at that point wt my weight now that i only battle vanity issues and that's not enough to keep my motivated. *sigh* So my scale is going up and down, but at least i'm sticking within the 130-132 lbs range.
There HAS to be a way to get under 130 lbs but I'm not rushing it, by any means.
Hey girls, well.... Today we went for a walk me and my girls, and I did a few miles on the bike today as well. I'm working hard on cardio, and I will keep on working as hard as I can. I can't forget about the weight training, but my body needs a break from all the weight training i've been doing, and it's' just another day at working it out you know.
I did answer the question in a reply did I. Yeah! I'm not heavy enough I think for the drug, but I can use it. My diet has been poor this week, and I do understand why. I'm burned out, and I look for a quick sweet fix. That's what the trainer told me today. She said, I have to get myself away from that. SO back to the B-12 I go.
She said, this mix of vitamins should help me with some of my sugar cravings, and low engery drops. It happens because, I am truly not a breakfast person, but she has a plan to fix all of that.
Power Bar first thing in the morning with a glass of milk should get me started. Calories around 330 total.. Counting the milk, if I go with a 210 cal bar, and 110 cals in milk. So I am willing to give it a try. She told me to eat around 330 cals for each meal, and then try to have a big old dinner loaded in veggies. I think I can handle that. So far everything is working out okay. I didn't eat any meat today, and I feel pretty great. I just didn't eat so great. I had pancakes today, and I have to lay off those things.. They can become my best friend in a new your min.. Well, I will chat you all again.
Cricket.. Take care of your hand, and maybe you need to get you a glove.. That might help with those blisters..
You are going to get under 130. Just keep on playing tennis, and ramp up those veggies.. I know you love veggies, you can do anything with them...
Hello! So far I'm doing ok with the "diet". I'm staying low in calories and walking pretty regularly. I gotta take that day or 2 break once in a while, but otherwise doing ok.
I've started eating yogurt again. It's still kinda hard to eat it after getting a "bad" one and being really sick from it. It kinda turns you off from the stuff. I like it, and I want to eat it and I am because it keeps me from the ice cream. LOL
I haven't been on the scale in a couple days. I'm all bloated and everything waiting for freakin' ttom to show up! It's sooooo late! Can't be prego, so that's not an issue.

The blister went away but it was awful for the first cpl of days. I don't play enough tennis to invest in a glove. It's expensive to rent the court and we play maybe once every 2-3 weeks.
hey cricket, glad that blister went away. I know they hurt like heck. I use to play tennis in high school and I loved it. Where I lived there was a tennis court where we could play for free. Can't find that too often. Things now a days are not free! lol
I weighed in this morning....185 lbs. So I'm down 3 lbs. I'll take it. Now to get further down......what a struggle!!!! UGH!!!!!
It's so hot here today. I went shopping and it was even hot in the mall! I was sweating the whole time. Question for ya......Do you burn more calories when you sweat? Or is it just water weight? I think it's water weight and you gain it back. We were talking about it here at home and it turned out to be a big squabble. LOL Want your opinions to tell these ppl. hahaha

We lose water weight when it's hot / we sweat that's why we should drink even more water than on a regular basis.
We had close to 90F and over 50% humidity yesterday. It was awful. Sweated a bucket but drank 24 oz of water within 2-3 hrs.
I know it's late for me to post, but I've been around lurking and working. I haven't been on in a few days really, but have been here and there as I should. With the water question. I agree totally with, Cricket... We do sweat a lot, and with that sweating. It's to cool or bodies down, so we need more water to help the body cool off, but as I heard..... With that cooling effect. We do burn some of the calories in our bodies and lose weight, and that's why we are told to work out until we break a sweat. Breaking a sweat cause for us to burn off calories and release or drop some of the fat deposits in our bodies. That's what and ex trainer told me. I haven't really done research on it, but I will be looking into it.
Now then, I haven't looked at my weight either.. Since "tom" I saw no reason in stepping back on again to see if anything happen. I will check on Monday like everyone else. I will be in for a up or down report, but everything is good and alright in my book.
A friend of mines was telling me about her walking log journal she started to use the other day. Something she came up with to keep track of how many mines a day she walks and how many calories she burns in a week total. She said to me. She is using this journal for part of her success in losing the weight, and is holding herself to a 1500 calorie diet for her weight and height. She asked me did I think this was a good plan. I said.. Yeah, I just might do something like that myself, but only log the ones I burn during the whole day. Like wear my calorie watch, and see how many calories I do burn during a hole day, and record them at the end of the day. She said to me. In our kick boxing class the other night that her polar calories burner said she burned around 1007 calories, and mines had me at 843. I wasn't upset at all about her burn, because she is taller than me, and maybe just maybe.. She was giving it more than I had to give.. But hey.. WHO CARES!
So far.. She has lost over 25 pounds in 2 months, and has been following an online diet plan she had order. She told me.. Staying in a 1500 calorie range is working for her, and she eats around 86 grams of protein, and has 40grams of fat perday.. a lot more grams than I have, but it's working for her, and she has been eating more carbs but the right carbs. Can a person lose more weight with more carbs.. I don't understand this, and I think I will research this as well, but I am happy for her..
Well, I have my new life style change in plan, and is ready to go to work. Next week its on and poppin.. A full work load is ahead of me, and I have made room to pencil in some workout time as well.
Well I done finger chat enough for this morning, and I have to get some rest. I have a 10am hike to get ready for, and I know I am going to burn some cals..
