So how do you deal with tempting ads- especially on this site?
I try to report to Calorie Count religiously and usually feel great when I do...but right now I'm struggling just a bit and it doesn't help that there's a big Duncan Hines Carrot Cake advert on the side bar staring me in the face.
*sigh*
I guess I expect it on TV shows, but for some reason it hits me extra hard on this site and starts the cravings really badly.
I use an adblocker and never see ads on this site. I highly recommend it to anyone who is bothered by ads for any reason at all.
I wouldn't be tempted by something I have to mix and bake. Now those home-made cookies and granola bars they sell in my hall at work...THEY are tempting!
I totally agree with you. I think CC shouldpractice what it preaches and not allow adds for unhealthy, high caloric foods, nor for fad diets or diet products.
Frankly, I'd rather Calorie Count be free and have to install an ad blocker (also free). Actually, I just ignore them - only a few really bug me (if they pop out and interfere with what I'm reading).
Neither CC nor About.com picks the ads - they are based on the content (google analytics, i think).
