Dear Guys of CC...

Quote  |  Reply
i was just posting in another thread where a poster thought her hubby was just being nice by saying he liked the way she looked in a certain outfit, and it got me thinking. it seems to me that us women are WAY more critical of ourselves than the men in our lives would ever be...

so if you could be so kind guys, please share with us some things about your significant other (or even women in your past) that they thought were flaws (ie body parts they tried to cover up, or complained about) but you thought were cute/sexy or just plain fabulous!

i suppose this could go both ways, so women, if theres something your man thinks is a flaw but you adore, share that too! and of course our gay and lesbian CCers should chime in too :)

i think if we could all see ourselves the way the people we love do, the world would be a much happier place!

Her ghetto booty!
My husband once made me cry by saying I had thunder thighs. It took me a while to realize he thought "thunder thighs" was a compliment. heheh...

Can't breathe. Laughing too hard.

Just more proof guys truly are clueless.

When I had lost about 60ish pounds I had this realization that I wouldn't consider myself "fat" anymore... instead I thought I was "chubby". I told my husband this and he looked at me like he was shocked, so I said "Well, what do you consider me?" and he says "Meaty." Gee, that sounds way better than chubby! Hahaha. Now that I am close to goal I consider myself "fluffy", by the way. :D

I have a similar story. I was told in junior college that I sure had a big a--! I told the guy off! I thought what a jerk!! Then my roommate told me that to him that was a compliment! I was a little embarrassed but TO ME IT WASN'T. It was a racial divide situation! Once in a while I wonder if he still tells people the story about the crazy white chick who chewed him out for complimenting her!  LMAO!!!

What a good topic!

My guy doesn't get specific! He tells me I'm beautiful in general! He's lying of course but it's the effort that I appreciate because even when you know it isn't true it's still nice to hear it!!

My guy hates his chest but I adore it!!

My boyfriend will literally grab handfuls of my body : butt, stomach, thighs, etc,. and make this cute screwed up face and say "OOOOoohhhh da baybeh!"

To me, he's grabbing handfuls of my FAT. I told him that once, and he said "no, I'm just grabbing my baby" So, I'm all fat then? O-o;

But really it was a compliment, just an odd one >.<

He says he loves my ass because it's jiggly :\ Thaaaanks. haha

My boyfriend at the time saw a comedian make a joke about "getting into her Lane Bryant's" and so when I came back from the mall with a shopping bag from Lane Bryant's he said, "I can't wait to get into your Lane Bryants" with this stupid goofy grin and I am staring at him trying to decide whether to laugh or hit him.

He didn't even know there were stores that only sold plus-size clothing.
Good Topic! My husband loves my mouth, but I really never thought of my mouth as sexy because I had a HUGE gap between my bottom front teeth. I think he likes the way I smile and talk. But I recently spent $3,000 getting the dental work done to fix the gap and he asked me why I did it and I told him I couldn't live with a guy with a mouth obsession without getting the space fixed!  On the opposite end, in the past most guys have loved my chest (I'm a 32DD) but he does not.

As far as him, he wishes he was taller, he's 5'9, but I LOVE that height on a guy, he's not so super tall that I'm looking at the tops of his jeans. (No joke I'm well under 5'0 and this is more common than you would think, and I can't take a guy that tall seriously at my height!!!!!) and he's not so short that I'm looking him in the eye.

My hubby's bald head!  He hates that he started losing his hair young (early 20s) and now he just shaves it.  But I love it!  Whenever I see a bald head in a crowd I find my eyes drawn to the guy.  Most of the time he is really attractive!!  There are tons of famous bald men that are really sexy, and I have pics of a few of them posted on my myspace page.

I think he is finally starting to believe me.... Tongue out

My bf always ask me to walk around (at home) when i wear my tNA pants. He says he loves to see how my butt jiggles when I walk....lol..........

Christ that's hilarious!!

Before I lost weight I had quite a booty that went along with my huge thighs. I hated my butt and legs, but apparently my husband loved it because now he constantly goes around and says "I miss your butt! It was so good and now it is just bony!" Hmm, too bad we can't move our fat in our bodies to different places where we actually want/need it.

stripedtiger, just because you don't think you're beautiful, doesn't mean your boyfriend is lying when he says you are! my guess is that he tells you cause he means it, cause you are!

and where are the men on this thread?! post you CC guys, post!
Nasuoni~ My b/f does the same thing and it makes me really self consious but he doesn't see it as insulting and does it all the time.  Or he'll reach over and juggle my stomach and I want to SMACK him!!  He swears he's not insulting me but I still told him (in tears mind you) that I didn't like him doing it.

It was the same for me until my boy held me down once, quite forcefully, and made me look in his eyes. Then, with the most sincere voice I've ever heard him speak with, he stated:

"I love you. All of you. If you want to lose weight because YOU don't like how you look, that's fine. But never think I want you to lose weight. I'm happy when you're happy, and I love you no matter your size. And, you're damned sexy...I'm going to grab, hold, pinch, and love any part of you I want, because you're sexy and you're mine"

I may be not remembering the exact wordage, but that's what he said to me, and it made me cry with happiness. I love that boy ♥

You ladies have great men! My husband is lacking in the sensitivity department...utterly.

 Yep. He's a keeper.

My fiancee thinks her butt is too big too. I don't. I think it's great as it is.

Our entire marriage, I cut my husband's hair. As he lost more and more of it, I started cropping it nice and short - I loved the feel of it, buzzed like a marine. He finally gave up trying to get me to only trim, and accepted how hot I thought it was.

My experiences were more like this......  I've only had one b'friend who made the effort to tell me that he cared for me no matter what my size, but he also referred to my thighs as "turkey legs" (I'm assuming because they are big and meaty at the top?).  The other men in my life have been flat out cruel about my weight and made it clear that it was a problem for them.
