Dear Sweet Jesus, lookit that boy EAT.

One of the things I love about Mass Phase (that's sarcasm, folks, in case you weren't paying attention), is my insatiable appetite.  Most days, I'm able to hold to 2200-2500 calories, but on certain days (oh, let's say TODAY), I just pork out at dinner.  No reason, other than my wife's kickass southern cooking.  Steak and gravy, rice (also with gravy?  But of course), like SIX croissants (those lil' canned ones that are really bad but taste oh so great), and a gi-normous bowl of asparagus.

I've always wondered why it is that I can be working out six days a week, most times stay within the limits I've imposed upon myself, and then all of a sudden, for no reason at all, I have the appetite of a velociraptor.  Is it a chemical thing, am I just a fatboy in a grownup's body, or is there some workout-based reason for it?  I didn't even do cardio today--today was upper bod no HIIT, and yet for some reason, today I coulda eaten the southbound end of a northbound horse.

I dunno.  Maybe there is no answer for it, maybe I was just famissshed, precious.  Whateva.  Am I the only one in this group that has chunk days?  Only happens to me about once every three weeks or so, but no rhyme or reason to it.  I usually eat five small meals a day, and there's been no recent variation, so I can't put my finger on it.  I'd squash it if I knew how--I drink darn near 2 gallons of water a day, too, but sometimes that doesn't help either, and I shoot right into the mid-three thousands by the end of dinner.

Blargh.  I need a Tums.

PistolPete21, that was delicious to read! I have these days too, and I've learned my bod well enough to know that if it's crazin' for a grazin' - I better give it what it wants :) Here's to our loved ones that cook up scrumptious morsels! <My husband is the chef in our house. Yup, I'm a lucky girl!>

once every 3 weeks, i get it once a week maybe i can hold out for 2. but i say, if your results are still good just listen to your body it knows what it wants.

Consider it a Cheat Day, to keep your metabolism guessing, and it can be officially sanctioned by the diet-gods. Tongue out

i thought there was only one diet god & one fat devil.

I will lift 3 days in a week usually t-w-th and by saturday my appetite is horrifying. I eat and drink anything I can for two days then it dies down again. It works for me because I am only putting on lean mass and keeping the same weight!

No words of advice here, but I agree with kmk33- that was a good read!

Plus it makes me feel a bit better about my 1800 cal pig out yesterday :D

Yup i get them too ..  it's like on those days i lose all self control.

Im currently eating a whooping 2500 cals a day (alot for a 115lb girl) and i thought i wouldn't get them anymore .. but today i've polished off about 3,500cals and it's not even 4pm .... darn food.

i've spoken to my personal trainer about it, she says that if you body's craving food give it food.

Just don't mistake a need for food for a need to binge .. if you craving bad stuff it's a binge and stear away.

If you body needs extra cals you won't care where they come from, so keep it clean and don't worry about it unless it becomes too regular or you see unwanted gains.

Dude you have no idea how i can relate to that although im 14 ive been going BEAST on working out for 3 years and am currently the most muscular kid in my school. Yesterday i pigged out, and ate a whole chicken+ half a loaf of bread(with a lot of butter) and this was only one meal, it took me about 3 and a half hours to finish(im a slow eater) and i never gain any weight cus i workout alternatively= 1 week ill workout twice a day and another week ill workout once a day.

I will agree with most everyone else's post.  Its normal.  I have those days and they're normally not on workout days.  There are just some days when I've finished dinner that I'm still hungry so I eat something else and never get completely satisfied.  Yesterday was a bad day.  A huge bowl of egg noodles cooked with cream of chicken soup with some chicken, which the portion I ate filled me up but only lasted about 15 minutes then it was gone and I had a bowl of leftover chili and I still felt empty.  To satify myself I ate 2 cookies with peanut butter (I only eat something sweet once a week so this means I can't have anything this weekend).   I felt like I ate 2 dinners but my body needed it.
