Okay well my name isn't Debbie, but I am from NH.  My friend told me about this group and I thought.. sure why not? I'll check it out.

So I did the calculator thing and it told me I need to lose like 83 pounds. My dr said thats insane. I'm 6'1 and I'm not sure the calculator really does account for that. But I am 228 pounds, and I'd really like to be/should be around 180.  Thats still 48+ pounds I do really need to lose.

Now ... 27 days ago, I kicked caffeine out of my life. It was prob the hardest thing I've ever kicked, but I knew I was drinking way too much and it is unhealthy, so I did it.  I've replaced it with water, just water. So I drink a ton of water, I actually always have loved water. I also drink a Vitamin Water (Dragonfruit), usually 1 every 2-3 days. I try not to make anything like that a habit.  I don't drink any thing else really.

For breakfast, I eat Special K, vanilla n almond with 2% milk. Actually, I dont really eat badly. I dont have alot of red meat. I eat steamed veggies, brown rice. I do LOVE chips THO! Leave me alone with a movie and the whole bag will be gone lol.

I work in an office too, so I'm sitting on my butt all day. I hate exercise, we sold the treadmill. We never used it.  My husband doesnt like to exercise and I dont have anyone to go walking with. 

I do love to walk though.  I am tired of having no motivation, I want to work out but I need a buddy. I'm tired of being a debbie downer.

anyone???  I need a walk buddy

Hi Cheryl and welcome to CC!  I have about 48-50 lbs. that I'd like to lose as well.  I'm 5' 6" and weight about 198ish.  Have you used the tools on CC to see how many calories you burn in a day?  I work in an office as well, but I'm up and down alot during the day. 

I also enjoy walking, I just don't always have the motivation to get out and go.  I have a gym membership, but I also have 2 nice walking tracks very close to my home.  Here's to hoping we both find the motivation to get out there and work for our health and well being!

I havent tried the calorie counter thingy yet lol. I'm going to try and log in tonite and take a closer look around.

I try to be up and down also. I put the trash can that used to be near my desk in the kitchen, solely so I'd have to get up and walk to it : ) 

I wish that we had walking tracks here, that would be awesome!!!  I hate the traffic on the roads. and I also dont like the gym lol.

Hi I just saw this post, I'm in NH too!

The weather is supposed to get really nice outside later this week, that should definitely motivate you to go take a walk. It's spring time, so just go outside and get some vitamin D. it feels really good, trust me!!

Welcome to CC! I'm from NH too! (Although I'm finishing up college in NY right now)

If you can't find a walk buddy, I know a trick that may help. Listening to a book on tape/CD/mp3 ect might be a nice distraction. Maybe see if there are any nice parks nearby. Taking a little stroll around your workplace on a lunch break with a co-worker might be a good idea. My dad used to do that when he worked in Nashua.


What calculator thing do you mean? what calculator thing would tell you to get to 145 lbs at 6'1", that's insanely low? I hope you don't mean on this site. All I see is the BMI calculator.
