Go Team 4!

I guess we can start by telling a little about ourselves:

I am Linda, and I am 23. I am a graduate student. I live with my boyfriend and our three cats.

Starting weight: 164 (when I joined cc on 10/31)

This challenge start weight: 157

Weight this week: 155.8

My goal for this challenge is to lose at least 5 lbs. Overall, I would like to be around 135. I am new to challenges, and very excited about getting to lose weight as a team. Hopefully we can all provide support and motivation for each other! My goal for this week is to lose another pound, log my calories, and exercise at least 3 times.

We can do this!

Hi Linda, Andrea, Delaney, Anu, Josie, White_Sakura, Lana, Scooby, Safina and Sara!

Okay, well, I'm probably the oldest in our group at fifty one. I'm a full time church worker in the (Anglican) Episcopalian church. I have two kids, one twenty and one fourteen, a dog and a cat.

I started off with caloriecounter in August at 197 pounds; my pride stepped in just in time for me to avoid hitting 200! I've managed to lose twenty so far, but have hit a bit of a plateau this past week. This challenge is great because I need a little bit of a push to help me get on with the next 40, as I'm aiming for 131-135 too.

My immediate goal up until the end of December is to get to 172, just 5lb, as I'm trying not to lose the weight too fast. I've learnt to be nice to myself; there's no point losing weight too quickly, then putting it all back on again.

Anyway, that's me. Best wishes to all in our group!

Hello everyone! Smile

My name is Lana. I'm 19 years old and currently a college student majoring in engineering. My first semester is about to end in a week and I am MORE than excited!

I've been on Calorie Count since Fall of 2007... but I wasn't really strict about my diet and working out. My life finally kind of settled down once college was a good month or two in. So I decided to get my body back on the right track the beginning of November.

My highest weight was 160 right when summer vacation ended. My goal is to be 98-110. Depending on if I'm satisfied with how I look like and how my clothes will fit. I'm 5'1" by the way. And I HATE HATE HATE being this short. I wish I could grow at least like 4 or 5 inches then I would be happy. :( But whatever, can't do anything about it lol.

I know I'm going to be too busy to go to the gym next week. But once I'm finished with my semester  next week, I'm doing some major working out. I miss it!

So where does everyone live?

I'm from Pennsylvania. :)

Hey guys!  I'm really busy for the next day or so, I've got a Shakespeare paper to write tonight and I'm trying to avoid CC until I get it done.  I'll come back later and post more.  Just wanted to let everyone know I'm not ignoring this.  :)

I am a student in Arkansas. I am about to finish my first semester of graduate school...lol after I finish writing about 50 more pages of research! Lana, congratulations on finishing your first semester at college! Delaney, good luck on your Shakespeare paper, and we will see you when you get it done. Jacqueline, that is awesome that you have already lost 20 lbs. Any tips?

I am going to be busy through next Tuesday with schoolwork and finals, but I plan to hit the gym after that.

Hi Team 4!

Having spent a great deal of my life eating too much to avoid facing up to the real issues (you don't want to know!), here are my tips...

  1. face up to it (deal with your issues another way: cry, rant, punch a pillow, go for a run, walk the dog, whatever it takes.)
  2. Everything counts! (Don't stuff yourself tonight promising you'll go back on the diet tomorrow, your body still has to deal with it.)
  3. Record everything you eat, even if you go over your calorie allowance. See if there is a pattern to your overeating.
  4. Enjoy feeling satisfied. ( After eating, take a moment to sense the feeling of satiation, you'll appreciate even a small meal much more.)
  5. Cut yourself some slack. (Be nice to yourself; you're only human.)

Hi all!  I'm 27 and am just completing my first semester of graduate school (apparently business school is easier...I have a couple of presentations but no major research project).  I am single, I live alone, and therefore have apparently just given myself free reign to eat whatever I want and be lazy.  But that stopped this week.

I've maintained a deficit everyday this week, and am going to get back into my workout routine on Monday.  I'm at about 176 (as of 11/30) and am aiming for 130-140 (depending on how I feel at that point).  I'd love to be down about 30 lbs by St. Patricks Day (my bday is the day before).  So my goal for this month is 8-10 lbs.

Ok guys, got the first Shakespeare paper done so I have today to take a break from school before next week starts and more papers are due!

I'll be 22 years old in a couple of weeks.  I'm a senior in college majoring in English Lit.  I have a little orange kitty and my boyfriend and I share a lab/husky mix (my profile pic).  I'm totally obsessed with my animals. Smile

I started working out in September at 154 lbs.  I joined CC when I got to 148 or so and I want to be at 140, but I can't get rid of these last few pounds.  Yell  I swear I saw 143 on the scale a couple of weeks ago.. that was right before I went home to my parents house for a weeklong Thanksgiving celebration!  It's been tough to get back on track since then.

I did do a 5k this morning... None of my friends could join me, and I didn't want to go alone since I'd never done one before, so I recruited my mom and my doggie from home!  Mom is not in any shape at all, so we walked the 5k.  At least I got some exercise!

I'm also getting towards the end of the Couch 2 5k running program.  For anyone who's never tried it, I definitely reccomend it!  It's a great interval training program (and FREE) and it goes really slow so you don't get burned out.

I haven't been eating very healthy in the past week (sorry team!) but I'm determined to change that, starting today.

It may be several days before I can check back in, but I'll stay committed!  I'm excited to be a part of this.  GO TEAM 4! We can do this guys!! Smile

So as of this morning I'm down 2.8 lbs...I'm back down to the weight I was at when I started this last year!  Hopefully everyone else is doing as well!  Now I'm off to have breakfast

Good luck and good health all!

Way To Go Team 4!!!

So far only 6 of your teammates weighed in, as of now, but don't let that get your hopes down. You guys are doing great!

2nd Place, as it stands now.

KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK!!!

If you need anything, feel free to contact me!Laughing

Yay Team 4! 2nd place is pretty great! Keep up the good work guys!

Hey guys!

I'm really sorry this took me so long! I'm new to the site and trying to figure these things out!

Anyway, I'm Sara! I'm 18 and just started university and over the summer I lived away from home and all my friends and ate as much as I pleased and more and gainnned it.

I am now 200 lbs, I've lost 5 since starting on this site. My december challenge is to be 190 and I hope this challenge helps me!

Right now I am really busy with finals and then I'll be going home for Christmas, so I hope this goes well.

Hey guys. I am sorry this took me so long. I just had an injury ( either a fraction in my rib bone or a muscle strain) and don't know if I should go to the gym or not.I will go to the doctor on Monday and see if I can workout. Can't wait to start working out again and join you guys in this challenge. I am really disappointed. last time, my weight was 189 as of Dec 1st. I was hoping to lose 10 pounds this month.

Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Good grief, I am amazed at you people! I thought I was doing well, but I can't believe the enthusiasm you all have!

Good news from me, I lost a 1lb this week. It's been really hard recently to stay on the bandwagon; I'd not lost any weight for a couple of weeks, got fed up and had to rethink my attitude.

I've just finished a bachelor's degree in theology this summer, so I can't empathise with all the academics, I'm just soo glad I don't have to write any more dissertations for a while, but I do have sermons to write and my first wedding to conduct at the end of this week! So I'm trying to stay focused on everything

It's really icy here; I live in the North West of England, by the sea, and so although our climate is quite mild, this little neighbourhood gets lots of frost, and because we're not really used to it, we all panic.  I try to get my exercise either by walking the dog along the beach, or cycling to church and back. Not good in icy weather, but I really enjoy it.

Anyway, good luck to you all this week, especially safina 1. Hope you do okay at the doctor's.

Safina - those injuries may prevent you from doing any weight training, but you could at least go walking...even if its just around the track at your gym.  Also, check with your doctor, but pilates might be ok.  It really depends on the extent of your injury, but if you listen to your body you should be ok.

I hope that you heal quickly!

Ah so after gainin 1.5lbs last week, today I'm back down to 156.0lbs.
I hope I can get out of this range. Last time I was at 156.0 it lasted like 2 weeks.

I hope everyone is having a wonderful week!

I'm back on track guys!! One more exam tomorrow before my semester is done, and I'm down 2 lbs from last week!  YAY!

Safina, heal quickly, don't push yourself too hard!  And Ianochka, good for you for breaking even.  You can do this!

I'm in a great mood today.  GOO Team 4!! Laughing

I am at 155.6 So, only .2 lbs this week. I am determined to do better this week by working out more! Good job delaney and ianochka! You guys are doing great! Go team 4! Cool

Hello Team 4. A couple of us from team 6 have been added to your group. Just wanted to introduce myself.

I'm 38, live in Nova Scotia Canada and started here in October (2 months tomorrow).  I'm a landscape designer who ended up behind a desk for many years and want to get back in shape as I start working in the field in the spring (not working for the winter). Have to be able to keep up with those younger horticulturalists! I'm down 19.2 pounds since I started....hopefully can lose 35 by the end of march...but my goal is to lose 85.

I'm not sure if we are using Monday (Dec 1) or Thursday (Dec 4) as our start weight. I weighed in Dec 11 and was down 2.8 since the Dec 1. I'm not sure if this loss gets added to this group or what. I'm pretty sure I'll do well this week. The scales seems to be much friendlier lately!

Seems like a great bunch here! Keep up the good work and I look forward to getting to know y'all.

Lily

great to have you aboard lilygirl and the rest of team 6!

As you can see, we could use the help, so Welcome! I'm only expecting to lose 1lb a week, so I won't be much help numbers-wise, but I reckon my job is moral support, so please feel morally supported!

Good luck to all for Thursday!
