im not so sure about a few days before but the day before i play an 80 minute soccer match i usually carbo load which is when i eat alot of carbohydrate to get the glycogen levels in my body up. so yeah carbs are really good and i also find its good to eat lots of carbo meals a few hours apart at night instead of one big meal.
