Its so nice to have people who are in the same boat as me! All of my friends are skinny. I have shared my "life change" with three of my closest friends, who are so supportive of me. I dont know what I would do without their support. Anyways..

- Plan: At this point around 1200 calories. I dont like to cut out anything completely, but rather limit the bad foods and plan on when I will let myself have them, and compromise with other food that day so I still dont go over my calories. Ive lost almost 30 pounds in the last two months. I was down to 248, but I went to visit a friend for the weekend and had chinese food and cheesecake, and didnt pay attention to my intake (as I had planned not to) and only gained 3 pounds thankfully, one of which I've already lost. I have also started running more. I can do .5 mile without stopping now, and I try to jog/walk 2 miles every night, plus doing pushups, crunches, dancing in my home for 20 minutes, and using the stationery bike.
Hey Guys. Can I join you? I've already lost 130 pounds, but I still have 25 more to go. So if you guys have any questions along the way, or need support, I'm TOTALLY here and fully understand what you are going through. It's so amazing how it falls off tho. So amazing. It's all about having patients.

I'm super pissed off you guys. I weighed myself on Monday and I weighed 293... then I weighed myself again last night and I was at 296.5! How the HELL did that happen? I even weighed myself again after that (about an hour later) and the numbers were still the same, so I know it's not my scale, although I know it's .5lb off because I weighed a 10lb weight and the scale read 9.5lb, but Im not worried about .5lb... I just want to know where that 3lbs came from!! I weighed myself at my normal time, 10pm, 2 1/2 hours after I ate and about 40 mins after I worked out. Why??? I hope the numbers go back down tonight, otherwise I'm going to lose hope and eat like a mofo. I'm so frustrated right now and nobody can give me a solid answer as to why it's doing that. I haven't even seen a change in clothes or anything. Almost 15lbs lost and I have yet to see a change!!! WF;kh3t;kh3kth3ti3u5i3 FRUSTRATEDNESS!!!!
I have a difficult time cutting out sugar...i still always have 1500 calories a day give or take 100....the worst day was once day i ended up with 2500 calories and then i had another day at 2200 but for the most part for the last 2 months i've kept it under control...now i'm trying to cut out so much sodium...i quit drinking diet soda and i'm trying to watch out for salty foods.
I honestly don't feel like i'm losing weight....last year i was at 320...i started working out and got down to 300 and stayed there for a year and then i started here at 300 and now i'm down to 281...arg...i wanna be 250 by my birthday on dec 6 and hopefully 200 by june of 08 and 150 by my birthday in 08.....is that doable?

Heather, I think that is possible. I used the tools here and put in your height, current weight etc and it said you can eat 1750 calories a day and be 250 by 12/31/07--that is 1.5lbs a week, I think when you are heavier like I am (275lbs right now) we can lose quicker than that. Our BMR's are higher. You could try 1600 calories a day and probably get close to that goal.
heather and mztender: My thought is unless it's there for an ENTIRE week... don't sweat it...
I weight myself daily... partly as a reminder.. and partly because.. well, I"m obsessive!!! It's funny, too.. because I can look at those 1 pound losses in the middle of a day and get ALL excited.. but if there's a gain.. I can think... "Oh, it's nothing"...
but I know what you mean.. there are some nights I go to bed literally eXCITED because I'm hungry... and wake up the next morning just ready to jump on the the scale AND... I GAINED THREE POUNDS POOP!!!
Only you know if you're being honest... but let's be frank, at this weight, if we do what we're supposed to we WILL lose... it may take longer than we want... but we WILL lose... so my suggestion.. when you have a few DAYS in a row that suck... look at your progress over the last MONTH... It'll all even itself out... and if you do what you're supposed to you WILL start losing again.
There are a few of us on here who have already LOST over 100... and some who are very close... we'll all tell you the same thing... the ball gets stuck every so often.. and even seems to go uphill... but keep plugging away... and it WILL start rolling again.. HONEST!

oh and the processed foods thing... I"m with some of you... I don't plan to cut them out "completely" just mostly... no fast food... BUT I do eat a slim fast bar pretty much daily... and lunch meat just because it's handy, fast protein.

ahhh thanks you guys make me feel better but i'm out of drinking water AHHHHH!....tap water in my town is so gross it taste like dirt and metal...so i'm off to the store!!

Mini-Goal Weight: 277 by 11/18/07 - contest at work
ULTIMATE Goal Weight: 180 - pre baby weight - I have this sexy black leather skirt that I want to go out in.
Plan: weigh everything, measure everything. An ounce of veggies is bigger than you think and an ounce of cheese is smaller.
Don't eat out ! If you do, get a salad ( w/o cheese & croutons) and carry your own dressing. Restaurants will buy what is least expensive and tastes the best - ie lots of fat. The Cottage cheese on the salad bar will not be the no-fat kind you have at home.
Exercise is good - inches come of faster than pounds often. Working with a personal trainer twice a week. Joined a Yoga class. Just bought an exercise bike for the house.
No eating infront of TV. Be aware of what you put in your mouth.
To fight the 3:00 tired and want chocolate binge - I have a SLimfast chocolate drink. Work great and gives me enough energy to go home and cook a healthy meal.
I have also begun shifting to a vegetarian lifestyle ( started in Jan). I still eat diary and some poultry( rarely at family events) and fish ( about 1 a week or two) as well as using eggs in recipes.
My whole family is in this with me - mainly cause if I bought little debbies for the house I would eat half the box. My son is watching his portions - he even read on the back of the pretzel bag how many were in a serving and was counting them out and putting them in a bowl -- vs old days of sitting in front of TV and eating straight out of the bag.
He likes those little single serving cereal boxes ( the ones you use to go camping) - so I explained that he needs about 16 cereal boxes of food a day (1600-1800 cals). So we talk about cereal boxes in Mcdonald's Happy meals and in pizza. We sat down together and looked over the nutritional reports for fast food until we found one we agreed on that was close by. Not ideal but steps in the right direction. HE gets a kids meal with fruit and I get a diet coke and bowl of fruit.
Hubby is training to be a chef and is enjoying trying the new recipes I bring home.

AWESOME today... talked to my college roommate who I haven't seen since here wedding 10 years ago when I was 300 lbs. We're getting together next week... so I'm abouit 30 pounds less than the last time she saw me...
Still haven't worked out today... been on the boards WAY too much.. but at least the living room is situated now... soon as it gets cold in here I'm gonna go hit it!
