first, dont worry... my daughter sat up on her own at 6 months, and the doctor said it was right on target... 9 months isnt that big of a difference... HOWEVER, I would consult your doctor if you're really that concerned.

Also, my daughter didnt crawl... she scooted around for awhile, and then went straight to pulling herself up and walking.   Some kids just do that. and Remember, all kids are different... dont try to compare them!  :)

I agree with stlgirl - all kids are different.  My oldest sat up at 6 months, and then was taking his first steps at 11 months.  My second son didn't sit up until 10 months, and didn't take his first steps until 13 months.  My hubby and I were freaking out and considering taking him to a specialist when he just took some steps one day.

Relax, but if you're really concerned, mention it to your pediatrician.

That's the best advice ever, "Never compare babies accomplishments".  They all truly develop differently.

One thing that could cause a problem though is if your child is prone to ear infections.  When mine got tubes put in it made a world of difference in both his communications and balance.
my brother never crawled... he went straight to walking at about 11 months..
All kids are different. My daughter never crawled, just scooted around and then went straight to walking. My son never scooted and crawled and then walked. They all develop at different rates. My daughter was walking at 9 months, my son was just starting to crawl at that age.
Don't worry, all kids develope at their own rate. My son didn't crawl til 10 months, and didn't pul up til 13 months and just started walking at 19 months. Enjoy the peace now, cause once they crawl/walk your freedom is over-just kidding but you are a lot busier:) If you are worried, have an asessment done with your health region. My sister's an occupational therapist adn to help my son crawl we put both his legs into a leg of a nylon ( called the mermaid) this helps to isolate his core muscles.

I recomend that as well, sit her on a stool adn get her to reach for her toys. This also strengthens the core which is the first muscles to develope before the limbs. Goes from gross motor to fine motor.

Good luck, and don't worry:)
yes, my best friend and i had our sons 2 DAYS APART and when mine was 7 months old he began to crawl, hers didint even roll over till 8 months, she was pretty worried and thought he was behind, but by the time they were 15 months old, they were doing the EXACT same things so dont worry about it too much some children take a little longer

My third was the same way.  She first started sitting herself up around 10 months, & I panicked b/c my first 2 were walking between 10 1/2 & 11 months.  I brought her to my friend who is an OT & she said to put her in crawling position & rock her back & forth so her legs "learn" that movement.  She totally cried each time, & instead of crawling she used to push herself on her bottom w/ one hand behind her.  That lasted a few weeks & tada! she started walking when she turned 1.  That is early for walking - though my other kids were freakishly early.

Don't worry!  Unless your doc thinks it's time to worry, each kid moves at their own pace.

mom would make us roll and pull and kick and fight, to get what we wanted (toys, binkies, and so on).  she'd lay and towel or blanket on the floor and put whatever we wanted on the other corner.  it worked, we all crawled and walked early.

my brother never crawled, he didn't even walk.  he starting running at 6 months.
With my niece, she wouldnt even try to walk without someone holding her hands so we had heard of taking wooden spoons and putting the handles in her hands and we would hold on to the ladle part while walking with her and then eventually we would let go and she'd walk around with these two big spoons. It was hilarious but it worked.
