Deleting group tags... is it possible?
I use group tags quite liberally (they are so handy!), but sometimes have the need to delete the entire tag. Does anyone know how to do that? I can't seem to find any information on it
Thanks!!
Kathy
Anything that you have tagged can be deleted. When you click on the tag, you will have the option to edit or delete. ![]()
I know you can delete individual tagged items. I'm talking about the "group" tags (when you add the same name to a tags and it then keeps a "group" of them)..
For example, for a favorite meal that I eat often, I'll tag each individual item the same name and then each item will be grouped under that name. That way, I don't have to enter each individual item every time I eat the meal.
I'm wondering how I can remove the group name. The feature is not well documented at all. I picked up the idea from someone in this forum...The problem is that I have not been able to delete the group name...there is only a drop down arrow (to add the items) and no "x" option to delete, only a drop down arrow.
I was hoping to catch someone here who knew about the feature and would know the answer...?
Can't you just remove that tag from each item in the group?
For example, if you have peanut butter, jelly, and bread tagged as 'PB&J' but you want to delete 'PB&J' as a tag, you should be able to click on 'PB&J' in the right-hand column of the food tags list and then edit the tags for each of the component parts (pb, jelly, and bread) so that 'PB&J' is no longer a tag for any of them. Once there are no food items tagged with a given term, the tag disappears.
That was a winner! Thanks coreyander... Sometimes the simplest things are the hardest ![]()
