Delicious Frozen Foods

Quote  |  Reply

I am looking forward to enjoying my weight watchers calzone for lunch. It is the perfect size, and really very tasty. Years ago, when I followed the weight watchers plan, I remember the food tasting like cardboard. They have improved!

I'm wondering if you have a favorite I should look for in the store?

I pretty much like all of the diet frozen dinners I have tried. Some of my favorites are:

Healthy Choice: Beef Tips Portabello

SmartOnes: Tuna Noodle Gratin, Chicken Carbonara, Thai Style Chicken and Rice Noodles, Mini Veggie Pizza Bites

Lean Cuisine: Asian Style Potstickers, Cheese Lasagna with Chicken Scallopini, Fiesta Grilled Chicken, BBQ Chicken Wood Fire Pizza

Lean Pockets: Spinach Artichoke Chicken, White Chicken Pizza, Chicken Mushroom and Spinach

Kashi's frozen entrees are quite good and don't have as much sodium as frozen meals traditionally have.

Amy's, vegetarian and vegan options.

frozen veggies. pictsweet teriyaki veggies with ww pasta is delicious.

the mac and cheese lean cuisine is good with steamed broccoli...you can add chicken if you'd like

the lean cuisine pizzas are good

the lean pocket broccoli and cheese are good!!

i like the smart ones lasagna--there's a meatless one.

Trader Joe's Chicken Tikka Masala

That's awesome to know! I do worry about the amount of sodium, so I try to limit them to just a couple per week.

Also, thanks for all the other suggestions...many I have not tried but have thought about buying!

I love the Kashi frozen entrees... The southwest style chicken rocks!

They aren't always on sale though, so I've been having some Lean Cuisines this week. The sales usually alternate at my grocery store, haha. The parmesan crusted fish is yummy, as well as the grilled chicken with teriyaki glaze.

Healthy Choice also makes a pumpkin ravioli with squash that I really like. It's 300 calories, generally the point I cut off at for a frozen lunch.

I worry about the sodium too, but I have been eating frozen meals every weekday for lunch lately. It's just so cheap and easy. I also make myself a baby spinach salad with apple slices, walnuts, and dried cranberries with balsamic vinegar... Mm. I'm making myself hungry again.

Amy's frozen meals :)

I only tried the Breakfast burrito, and it was quite good. Although I had to add some extra salt :p

I love frozen green beans! Even when I don't need to, I buy a bag or two at the grocery store: ha ha.... The reason I love them is because I make "green bean french fries".... I rub them down with olive oil, salt & maybe a little pepper and then broil them until crispy (right before they turn black)... They're AMAZING!

I second (or third) Amy's frozen meals - especially since you are looking for low-sodium options, which Amy's has available.

I have tried the Spinach Feta in a Pocket Sandwich, Non-Dairy Bean & Rice Burrito, Brown Rice & Vegetables Bowl, Vegetable Pie in a Pocket Sandwich, Medium Chili with Vegetables, Organic Alphabet Soup, No Chicken Noodle Soup and Organic Cream of Tomato Soup. I frequently buy Amy's products (especially the Spinach Feta in a Pocket, Non-Dairy Bean & Rice Burrito, Medium Chili with Vegetables and the soups). Out of those, I would have to say the Spinach Feta Pocket or Non-Dairy Bean & Rice Burrito has been my favourite so far, although I have loved just about all of the ones I have tried (excluding the Brown Rice & Vegetables Bowl). However, I still do have an Amy's Shepherd's Pie sitting in my freezer, but I am sure it will be just as good as everything else has been since Amy never dissapoints!

Oh... I also have boughten two frozen fillo pocket sandwiches from Aunt Trudy's (Organic Spinach & Feta and Organic Roasted Vegetable), but have not tried either of them out yet. Has anyone else tried them before?

By the way, I have tried a Healthy Choice Cafe Steamer (General Tso's Spicy Chicken), but did not enjoy it at all; the rice was white and the sauce was a very spicy brown sauce, which I found to be unpleasant and unenjoyable.

Lean cuisine chicken paninis are one of my favories...both the tuscan chicken and the chicken club are seriously delish!

I know, I love Amy's too! My favorite burrito is probably the non-dairy Beans & Rice one, but the Cheddar Cheese one is pretty good too, albeit a little salty. My favorite whole meals are the low-sodium Veggie Loaf, Brown Rice Bowl, and the Mattar Panner. I really like that all of those varieties come in the "light in sodium" option too. As for the regular Amy's, I also love the Chili and Cornbread meal and the Black Bean Enchilada.

Lean Cuisine Mushroom and Spinach Deep Dish Pizza. <3 I eat this 5 times a week. I never get bored, it always tastes yuuuum.

the kashi Mayan harvest bake is amazing, and Amy's no cheese pizza is quite gfood too, as is Amy's teryaki bowl and all the burritos i love(havent had in so long) but love Amy's products.
