Delicious way to eat greek yogurt!
I love yogurt, and I love experimenting. In any case, I just recently found some fage greek yogurt (the supermarket used to not carry it), and I have created something delicious!
I buy the fage 2% greek yogurt, then I add:
1.5 teaspoons agave nectar (you can also use honey)
1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract
1.5 teaspoons ground cinnamon
I then put it in the freezer for about 45 minutes to get it really cold, and it tastes DELICIOUS! It comes up to about 150 calories. You can also add more or less cinnamon...I just really like cinnamon and the 1.5 teaspoons is perfect!
I have this mixed with my cereal (minus the agave & vanilla extract) EVERY morning! Sometimes I add cut up apples, or berries.
I've frozen it before, adding cocoa powder & cinnamon for a "Mexican hot chocolate" type of taste. I've even mixed equal parts of greek yogurt & pureed pumpkin (or a pumpkin/banana/peach puree mix) added cinnamon & pumpkin pie spice .... tastes just like pumpkin pie! Yummmm!
I love greek yogurt, too, if you couldn't tell :)
I'm so going to add pumpkin puree to my greek yogurt tomorrow! That sounds awesome! Thanks for the idea!
Ohh I love this to, I make mine with fage, wheatgerm, agave and chopped almonds. I put it in the freezer to sometimes, its so good ![]()
OH WOW YUM!! I will have to try that...and I've been reading people put it in their oatmeal? I may have to try that one too. I just discovered greek yogurt a few months ago! YUM!
greek yogurt is sooooooooo good! omg, i'm reading other people's posts and i've actually eaten it every single way listed, lol! i eat it everyday without fail.
if you freeze it for a few hours (normally i put it in the freezer before going to school and take it out immediately after) it's the consistency of frozen yogurt. or i freeze it overnight and take it in my lunch, so by lunchtime it's thawed out just the perfect amount.
i add either cinnamon, vanilla, or cocoa powder (or combinations) with sugar.
i add frozen fruit like peaches, strawberries, and blueberries.
wheat germ is soo good with it, especially with sugar and frozen fruit.
it's awesome in smoothies. this morning i added pumpkin and cinnamon. :)
one day i wanted to put something in it at school but the only thing i had was some powdered drink mix in my pocket. it was grape flavored and soooo good sprinkled on top. sour and sweet at the same time.
also good mixed into/spooned on top of oatmeal or muslei with nuts and dried fruit.
or mixed up with jello and fruit.
just to sum it up... yum. thanks for dedicating a thread to it! :)
Oh blueberry wheatgerm goes so well in it, I love the stuff.
Just out of curiousity how long would the yogurt keep in the freezer?Like say you made up a few little tubs and froze them, do you think they would keep ok for a say a few days? Im just thinking for ideas for work, I could make ahead and then take one out in the morning.
definitely a few days. i've never kept it in the freezer for more than a week, but that's just because i eat it first. :)

yum. I'm going to try with frozen rasperries. have you tried any cocoa powder yet?
YUM... I eat Greek yogurt every day!! My latest obsession is cutting up a banana and mixing it with plain Greek yogurt and a ton of cinnamon. It's DELICIOUS!!! :D
Also good: honey/agave, chocolate/carob chips, any fruit, cereal, spread on bread, by itself, etc. I love yogurt! <3
