Am I destined to be single forever??

Okay, so I am 20 years old and I have never had a boyfriend. I'm so embarrassed about it!! My 13 year old sister has already had a boyfriend. What is wrong with me? Should I start hitting up singles bars or something?

20 isnt that old :P when you hit 30 and still havent had a boyfriend...then panic....

My first kiss was at eighteen. My first boyfriend was at nineteen. I ended up marryin' him.

I just read pgeogrian's thread "a story...to put things in perspective" and now I feel really guilty for starting this topic. It really is stupid for me to worry about this.

No it's not. I know other girls (some older than you) that feel this way.

Some girls w/ a lot of 'experience' end up feeling bitter about men by 25 anyways. Cuase there are truly some bad folks out there. So enjoy life. Travel, get thin and make A's.

I didn't have my first real boyfriend until I was 22.  I think it was good, because after that, whenever I dated an ****, I was always the first to leave.  I didn't get married until I was 36, and I'm glad I waited.  He's awesome.

I wouldn't worry so much about age. As long as you're open to finding someone, odds are you will sooner or later.

I didn't start dating until 17, and then 2 years later I started seeing the man I'm now happily married to.

Given the opportunity to relive their lives, I am sure many people who are now mature would choose to wait until they were older to start dating. Waiting for someone special is much more sensible than fooling around with random people IMHO. And yes, I speak from personal experience, in my teen years I`d use to go through guys like they were pairs of socks, now I`d rather not waste my time with anyone not worth the effort of a serious relationship, even if that means being single for long periods of time.

Besides, you look very pretty and lively, so I`d say you`re much more likely to be destined to not be able to be single forever even if you tried! :)

I'm in the same boat (I'm 19.) I use to fret about it too, especially when people around my school starting spreading the lesbian rumor. But, I don't know, I just got over it. To me it's something to be proud of that I'm not so easily taken in by the first guy who asked me out. The sad truth is, I'm looking for someone with an intellectual mind and the absence of an overbearing personality. That's not exactly easy to find in my neck of the woods.

Anyway, I just wouldn't worry about it, these things tend to come natural to humans. : )

just have fun...dont settle for the sake of it......

then again nabbing a boyfriend isnt that high on my list....

 

I didn't have my first date until I was 20 (and a half, actually, if we're getting technical ).  Didn't have my first relationship until 21 (lasted 5 months, until I moved away for grad school).

The next person I dated ... well, we've been together almost four years, and we don't plan on stopping any time soon.  *g*
