After finals week and a week of not eating too great, I want to clean up my act. I thought about doing some detox, but I don't really know what to eat. More importantly, I don't want to cut back to the point of starvation mode.
I have read about the Fat Smash Diet, which has a phase 1 detox where you eat almost all fruits and vegetables at first, and then add things in.
Are there any opinions on detox?

When I think about truly purifying the body for health purposes (as opposed to purely weight loss), the first thing that comes to mind is a strict vegan diet - no dairy, no eggs, no refined sugar. In other words, back to basics. :) Oh, how I wish I wasn't too lazy to become vegan!
personally i dont beilive in detox too much, your body is a living organism... it flushes out these "toxins" for the most part, the liver is a very complez organ, we dont really need to starve or fast to clean our bodys. basically fiber helps keep your system of detox clean and smooth.
you're right about the liver thing...and on that topic alcohol would be a no-no :$
Green skined veggies and fruits apparently.
I dont detox, but I think i need to. I eat super healthy, but I had a really bad day where I had steak for lunch with two slices of cake after. I havent had cake in a few months. I felt sick the whole day, and a little off hte next. Any time I eat meat (inc fish) or heavy stuff (like had tuna in tomatoey sauce) I feel terribly sick. When I eat veggies and lgihter foods its not so bad. Lucky I have nutritional suppliemnts or I'd get real sick. Its getting better now tho.
I dont think you should only eat fruit and veg tho. Just increase the amount and dont eat past feeling full. Avoid salty fatty things. Avoid, not bad. Good fats are ok too. detox can equal too little calories. Just keep hydrated and avoid overly processed foods for a while i'd say

Simple: Juice fast with a cleansing supplement. If you are up for more, a one day water fast after 3 days of juice. If you arent up for fasting, only uncooked organic vegetables and fruits. Some say as low fibre as possible, others say high fibre. The fast works best for low-no fibre though... No dairy, nothing processed, nothing cooked in the slightest way, no seasonings. Only sweeteners that are allowed are pure organic maple syrup or honey.
The Mayo Clinic has this to say about Detox Diets
Whatever you do drink lots and lots of water! That can be a great way to 'clean out your system' (and to rev up your metabolism, some think) whether you are 'eating clean' or not.
Try drinking one small glass (8-12 oz) every hour while you are awake, or a large glass (16-20 oz) every two hours while you are awake. You may want to drink a little more when you wake up as well.

i read in either elle or marie claire that if u soak
1tbspoon of linseeds in a glass of water then drink it up in the morning, its meant
to be a non-invasive form of colonic irrigation... if anyone tries it let me
know how good it makes u feel :P
And theres the classics warm water and lemon and water and vinegar :P

Eating lots of vegtables, fruits, and whole grains, legumes and beans......limit dairy, meat(specially red), soy protein, caffeine-no coffee, and limit alchol.....go to a health food store, and get some milk thistle extract, and maybe some fiber pills(natural).....
milk thistle is really good for you! and your liver, it will help with weight management, help for all fatty foods, smoking or alcohol, pollution, chemicals, persevatives that you have been exposed to, help people who require digestive aids, and helps allery sufferers.
