I have noticed for a while that I have been feeling extremely bloated and wanted to try one of those detox cleanses to clear out my system.
Problem is im not sure which brand is good/trusted. And I would like to just hear from any one who has tried it so I know what to expect.
thanks!!
First of all, don't waste your money on one of those store bought cleanses that costs 40 $ or more. They are mostly fiber pills and you'll be swallowing up to 20 pills a day. I've done those and they are a total waste of time and money. Your body detoxifies naturally, for one thing, but if you want to feel lighter, less bloated, less sluggish, then you can do a sort of detox cleanse on your own. When I'm feeling that way, I just eat completely clean for awhile and add a lot of fiber, extra water, and mostly whole fruits and vegetables to my diet. Lots of cayenne pepper and cinnamon help too. I usually make a low sodium vegetable soup w/ lots of cayenne and cut out the coffee for awhile and replace it with tea with lemon and cinnamon in the mornings. Doubling your water intake alone will flush out that bloat. Citrus fruits, green tea, sweet potatoes, things like that are also natural diuretics. Try cutting out dairy, excess salt, red meat, anything processed or fake (like artificial sweeteners) for a week and I bet you'll feel a million times better.
I totally agree with the poster above. I work in a health food store as the supplement buyer -- it's my job to sell these detoxes, but unless someone walks in my store specifically for a cleanse, I just tell them to eat well, drink water, don't drink coffee or alcohol and they'll feel better in no time. That's the main reason people feel better on those cleanses. They may be taking 10 pills a day but it's the clean eating/drinking that really helps. And exercise!
My profile page has a bunch of natural detox foods listed. Do it the natural way and spend your money on good whole foods.
Try PSYLLIUM...its inexpensive you can get a good size jug at Trader Joes or healthfood stores for less than $10 and believe me it works.
Its the main ingredient in a lot of fiber pills and supplements. I warn you it isn't the easiest thing to get down, some people mix it into shakes I try to get it down quickly just with water.
Its natural and safe and it works like a bulldozer in the intestines to clense from the inside out.
Also when I feel sluggish I stay away from unhealthy carbs (white flour, starches) and dairy. I notice a difference in the first day of eating cleaner.
This is definetely true. Psyllium and fiber is all we need to regulate our colons and diet. Also try the Activia yogurt. That helped me alot too. I have been doubing my water intake, taking psyllium and eating apples and foods that aid in helping my diet...all those products they sell are ridiculous
ANY yogurt will work. They all have live active probiotic cultures.
thanks all for your help im going to try it all!
If you think you have 'toxins' in your system that you need to get rid of why aren't you seeing a doctor?
I have seen a dr. I have been having debilitating stomach spasms which result in intense bloating. The drs. have been monitoring my food intake etc. to see what is causing it but as of now they are unsure. so i wanted 2 try this to clean out my system
Thanks for posting this, leelan10. I have been wondering about this myself. Great, helpful responses too.
