Has anyone ever detoxed? How did you feel? Did you lose weight?

I think you will find that most people here are opposed to detoxes.  There's really no benefit to doing them - you can probably lose weight because you're forced to eat almost nothing (beware, doing that could negatively impact your metabolism), but you'd also be malnourishing yourself.

If you look up articles about them on cnn or reputable news sites, you'll often find quotes from doctors saying that there is no such thing as detoxifying your body through diet - that is what your liver and GI tract do.  They typically recommend that you avoid detox diets.

If you want to eat nothing and crap out a bunch of well, crap you could also get dysentery.

'Detoxing' is a myth.  Your liver, urinary tract, and colon detoxify themselves.  You might lose weight because of dehydration (or having a BM while not adding any new food weight) but the lower number won't stick around.

The best way to 'detox' is not to tox yourself up in the first place.  If you feed your body real food, drink plenty of water and try to avoid too many man-made nasties then your digestion will purr like a contented kitten, you'll have lots of energy and find it very easy to control your weight.

Instead of trying to unnaturally detox yourself I highly recommend having Benefiber every morning in your juice or even your coffee and make sure to have beans and other high fiber foods in your diet.  Just making sure you get the recommended amount of fiber can greatly improve the way you feel and in my experience is great for weight loss because fiber makes you feel full without tons of calories. Start slowly and work your way up to a full amount of fiber though if you haven't been trying because it takes your body time to adjust to that much and you don't want tummy aches.
