Is there a device I can buy that will track how many calories I burn on an average day so that I can stop assuming and try to figure out exactly what is going on?  If there is one is it worth it?

BodyBugg and GoWearFit are supposedly able to do this, but my guess is that they are still going to be estimates - just better estimates than an online calculator.

As to if they are worth it... I consider them expensive, but you may not. Bear in mind that at least GWF (I don't know about BB) requires you to pay a monthly charge to use the online portion, which I think is necessary to get your results.

I like my heartrate monitor...the guess is never entirely gone, but it is a more accurate guesstimate.

Thank you.  I am going to look into one of them to see which one is best for me.  I feel that it would be a useful tool for me to use to lose weight.
