Didn't eat enough calories today. What to do? (I need an answer soon)
It's the end of the day. I'm going to bed in a couple hours, I just ate dinner, and I feel full, so I don't want to eat anything else. The problem is I have over a 1000 calorie deficit, and I only ate 1100 calories today. My daily goal is 1400-1500. I'm not sure if I should stuff myself trying to eat enough to bring my calories up, or if I should drink a few glasses of sweet tea, or if I just shouldn't worry about it.
What should I do?
I'd drink something to get you over 1200 ... and let it ride with that.
One day isn't going to make or break you. Just make sure you plan better tomorrow and try to avoid hitting these unhealthy lows too frequently.
NO SWEET TEA! lol, I am at 890 and I need a min of 1280 so I just had a pure protien bar (180 cals) and I'll be eating some nuts. Try to eat some raw foods.... if all else fails two tbls of Peanut Butter will put you up 200cals :)
Try not to take in carbs... no sugar, but go au-natural. :)
I second the PB suggestion. Nights when I realize I have a huge deficit I have spoonful of peanut butter and maybe a glass of milk about an hour before bed. I love peanut butter, though, and it is a treat right out of the jar :)
Oh, and sometimes I'll have a square of dark chocolate, but that isn't as nutrient dense...that's more just for fun.
I'm a little short too! Aiming for 1600 kcal, and I still need 250! Darn high metabolism!
obviously don't make this a habit but I think the most valuable thing to get out of all of this is knowing when we FEEL FULL, knowing reasonably-sized portions, and stopping before we eat TOO MUCH. it's not about numbers all adding up to a precise amount at the end of the day.
It is if your deficit is constantly over 1000...
Nail biting over numbers? It's just a case of grabbing a banana...
The OP should be praised for looking to meet a safe target and after advice in achieving it.
The OP is talking of eating too little in teh day, so am confused why you are talking about over-eating.

I combine the two... I found peanut butter with chocolate chips in the supermarket the other day!

haha if you aren't hungry, don't eat. take it from an anxiety-disordered obsessive-compulsor (har har), nail-biting over numbers is not going to do you any good in the long run.

completely agree with you, stenwa. listen to what your body is telling you - that's how all these ED's and whatnot get started - we stop listening to our bodies and before long its all gone to ****.
you are trying to lose so don't stress out about not eating enough. Just let it go. If I were you i be happy that i didn't eat a lot of calories.
Well I dont pay attention to that to much, usually if I get to 1200 I'm happy. But days when I'm well under that and need something I have a glass of milk and an once of almonds, its about 240 cal and its very high in nutrition. Plus who couldn't use another serving of dairy?
What is the diet for kidney stones?
