I made this last night with diet cherry coke - it was great. My husband ate half the pan!!
You just get a boxed cake mix and add one can of pop, atleast thats what im doing! let you guys know how it turns out
Wooooo Awesome cake!! Sooo good!
I made it for a bunch of my friends and they all loved it.
I got to thinking... chocolate cake, mint extract? Does that have any calories?

i just made one last night, but THEN (oh, tragedy) we got a phone call to go have some beers w/ a friend by the house. it was beyond my control, hubby can't say no to that. so we went, we drank, and i put the cake away when i got home, as i cashed out all my calories for the day (and then some). but i did want to suggest that when i was licking the battter (over and over!), i thought it would be really good with some cinnamon added. kind of a mexican chocolate flavor.
I fed it to all my friends my roommate and they all loved it. They dont believe me about how I cooked it though!! LOL
Oh no, nirvrush - beer is my bane too! And it's too bad because I love it! But I have been sort of good and switched from my favorite dark beers like Guinness and Amber Bock to Miller Lite. Not the same taste at all, but not bad (although I did have some Guinness ice cream at a specialty restaurant the other day and it was marvelous!).
Tracymarie, i drink Miller Light or Bud Select for the most part, BUT did you know that Guinness only has 125 per 12 oz servings? there's a giant billboard advertising it downtown. i memorized that fact. so it's halfway in between light beer and reg. and i've been dying to try Guinness Ice Cream. i just got an ice cream maker and i found a recipe.
as for the cake, i just snuck a little finger-sized piece b/c i had to see what all the commotion is. my god, it is amazing. why would you ever put eggs and oil in cake mix again???

I actually did not know that - thank you! And if you wouldn't mind, I would love to have a look at that recipe!
And to get back on-topic, I have no idea why! I plan on trying all sorts of variations for this awesome cake!

i just emailed you the Guinness Ice Cream recipe. bet it'd go good with that cake.... <laugh>
Shame on me - I doubted all of you and was proven wrong. I just
had to try the cake to see if it could be any where near as good as
claimed. What can I say - I'm a believer now :-) It was
awesome (hubby even loved it). Now I'm contemplating possible
flavour combinations for the future.
Now if some one could post a miraculous 0 calorie frosting.....

it's not 0 calorie.. it's 15 calorie.. fat free cool whip.. i don't know how they did it but that stuff is awesome!!! :)
mmm....eating it right now. it's so moist! anyone tried it yet w/ other flavors, i.e. diet cherry coke?
Will be trying this tonight....can't wait...lol....
i just bought a devils food cake mix that was 160 for a 1/12 slice. i used diet coke with splenda and put them in a mimi cupcake size paper. it made 31 cupcakes at 62 cal each. they were great. thanks for the tip.
yesterday i tried a spice cake mix with diet tangerine-lime (hansen's). it was excellent!! cool-whip free (non-fat-15 cals per 2 Tbsp) on top made it extra good. i'll have another piece today.
Elin..Spice cake is a fav of mine..Thanks Im definitly going to try that one!!
I made one yesterday with Devil's Food cake and Diet Cherry Vanilla Doctor Pepper. Haven't tried it yet, though - tonight (provided I have the calories left over!)
I went ahead and used dark chocolate cake mix with diet sunkist - yummy! It tasted like one of those chocolate oranges you get during the holidays - but less calories for sure!
Mmm, elin! Hansen's is one of my favorite diet brands. Diet Stewart's is good too!

Wanting to try this, I went looking for a cake mix. Most I found were either brownies or came w/ frosting - though I supposed I could ignore the frosting. I took one of the brownies, but some were for an 8" x 8" pan, and others were for a 13" x 9" pan. Anyone know which one works w/ one can of soda? I bought the 8x8 one so I hope that works!
