The brownies turned out well, though a bit crumbly.  To counteract this, I just rolled & mashed them up into "brownie balls" and put them in an air-tight container.

(edit:) A box of the Pillsbury mix makes 16 brownies and I calculated them each to be 120 cals each, with the almonds in.  More like 100 without nuts.

Chocolate is a migraine trigger for me, so I can only eat one brownie ball without serious reprocussions.  DH & I have a friend staying at our house right now and he said that he couldn't taste any difference between the diet cola brownies and regular brownies.
OK, where I live, cake mixes don't exist...do you know how to make a "cake mix", ie..what are the ingredients and amounts used in cake mix? I really want to try this recipe!!!

I miss cake mix!!!!!!!!!!!!  *sigh*
isusiubeste. Email me an address where I can send you a cake mix or 2..(Customs and Excise allowing)..  just_bethy@yahoo.com
MMmmm I made a chcolate with splenda coke and "craisins" just tart enough to not be sour,,was soooo good..:)
This cake is part of the Weight Watchers diet.  Chocolate cake = coke, white cake = sprite.  Pretty good, I've done it a lot (including the WW diet)
Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, me so happy!

I just did a dark chocolate cake with super chill diet cola, baked the box of mix into 12 muffins, then added one tablespoon of chocolate whip cream for a total of 185 calories! Oh my goodness it was so full of goodness!

Next I need to find a diet strawberry pop, or use a ginger ale and use strawberry cake mix, and the strawberry cool whip, and then ginger ale and carot cake and fat free cool whip.

Ha, ha, ha, ha, ha, ha........Did I mention me so happy!
billb...just a feeling I get but..are you....happy..???..LOL
I'm gonna be making some Diet Coke cake for the first time ^_^ .  Just trying to decide between the Devil's Food mix with cola or Yellow with tangerine drink. . .
You bet I am!!! It is just so nice to be able to have something this nice, not that I will allow myself to have one a day, but maybe two-three a week. Actually, I am going to have one right now!
I treid this with Aspatamin..*sic and it wasn't as bad as I thought..
What about for high-altitude?  Would you still need to add the flour like it says?
Ours is in the oven as we speak. That's the first time I've been able to lick a bowl in good concience in years!
I made mine with devil's food cake and diet dr pepper berries and cream. I just tasted it and boy was it moist!!!!  I'm not that much of a cake eater, especially chocolate, but I could have eaten at least half of this one!!! I think next time I will try a yellow cake with diet cream soda. Yummy!

1 med. pkg. Cool Whip
1 box instant vanilla pudding
1 c. low fat milk Combine pudding and milk by whipping together. Fold in Cool Whip and beat until fluffy. Frosting is great on chocolate cakes or cupcakes. Must refrigerate when cake is frosted!   How about this frosting??  I would use sugar free pudding and 1 % milk.  I am on Weight Watchers and this is very, very low points, especially as a frosting over a whole cake!!

COOL WHIP FROSTING   1 sm. can crushed pineapple
1 sm. box vanilla instant pudding
1 lg. container Cool Whip Also very amazing!!!!

Jello makes fat free, sugar free pudding that has only 25 calories per serving and that means the whole package is 100 calories only...so over a cake means per slice would only be like 10 calories or so!!!!

I don't have any boxed cake mixes so make a diet soda chocolate cake from scratch and submitted the recipe. I am trying it right now........ Pretty tasty! BTW, I forgot to include 1/4 tsp of chinese five spice seasoning but regular cinnamon would do nicely. Did you know that adding cinnamon makes a baked product taste a little sweeter? I set my recipe for 16 servings instead of 12 as I try to keep my snacks in the 100 calorie range and this recipe analysis shows 105 calories per serving and 0.5 gms fat. Pretty nice!

Have a great day,

Joyce

wait. i'm confused. so you add the regular cake mix + eggs + oil, and THEN the diet coke? how is this healthy?? i'm confused :(

Hey Bethy,

Here is a recipe for the cake mix that you may like to try.

Here is another recipe found on answers.com

Chocolate Mayonnaise Cake (mayonnaise replaces eggs and oil but I suggest trying fat free mayonnaise instead)

2 cups white whole wheat flour[89275]
1/2 cup cocoa[19166]
1.5 teaspoons baking soda
1/4 teaspoon salt
1 cup sugar
3/4 cup fat free mayonnaise[4013]
8 ounces water or flavored diet pop[111217]
1 teaspoon vanilla

hummus86,

get your favorite cake and add a can of diet coke to it and bake according to the directions on the box, but do not include the other ingredients listed on the box.  It is really just a can of coke and cake mix.  Some others posted that you should use diet lemon lime for light flavors like vanilla cake, etc.

I was very skeptical about this b/c I've tried so many diet recipes and they usually taste awful but this cake is amazing!!!.  I used Duncan Hines dark chocolate fudge cake mix.  Sooo good!.  I used a recipe for frosting that was pudding and whipped topping but I didn't care for it too much.  The cake really is so good on its own.
